Wingnuts Moto Chaser also updated
I mentioned Super Monkey Ball this afternoon, but I neglected to mention Freeverse's update last week to Wingnuts Moto Racer -- now named Moto Chaser -- to version 1.1.
The update adds new music tracks and pause functionality, as well as moves the "punch" button to the right side. The default difficulty setting is also lower. All the changes were made with feedback from users, with the exception of the name: that was due to an unspecified copyright issue.
Our own Mike Schramm noted the app as one of his favorites for the iPhone.
The updated Moto Chaser is now $5.99 for new users, and free for registered users. Freeverse lowered the price from $9.99. It's available in the App Store.

Ha, when Cro-Mag did it, it seems like everyone else is doing it too.
I love competition.

Why can't my Moto Racer update to the new Moto Chaser? Is anyone else having this problem. I had two updates today that were Texas Hold'Em and Aurora Feint, but no Moto Racer/Chaser. I have emailed the developers and am awaiting a response.

The AppStore's automatic updating feature never works for me. In the past I've had to delete apps and re-install just to get the updated version. My AppStore shows all Apps up-to-date as well.

Moto Racer was the first for-pay app I bought because it was the only serious looking race game. Turns out it wasn't very serious, but it was OK to play. The controls were tough, especially when your natural inclination to compensate for a swerve resulted in overcompensation. Putting the "Punch" button above the "Gas" button was the worst mistake a developer could make. It didn't seem to care about multi-touch, either, since I couldn't simultaneously use the punch with my other hand. Basically, I see these problems as bugs and design flaws. It makes me mad enough to complain here that the update that fixes these problems is going to cost me AGAIN. Why would I want to pay $15 total to get the game I should have gotten in the first place for $10 (which felt a little high when I bought it)?

Hi Barry and Robert, Brian from Freeverse here. Your Moto Racer game should automatically update to Moto Chaser, and it it should be for free. We have heard that the App Store's update feature doesn't always work.
You might try to reboot your iPhone, then check the App Store for updates, or also delete and reinstall the app from iTunes. Feel free to email us: support (at) freeverse . com if you're still having problems.

Hi Brian. For the benefit of those who are reading this post and it's comments, I have tried all you said and still no update available. My updates have been working perfectly for the past 2 weeks or so, so I am sure that isn't the problem. I am sending an email to that address.
Thanks for the response.

Yeah- some help there Brian. Two automated email responses and a guy on your forum telling me I need to go through Apple! Well, the app in my purchase history is greyed out, and it is telling me it is too old for me to report a problem, so I can't contact Apple about it. So I am stuck with an old version, and I am not paying any more money for an update, especially as you guys obviously couldn't care less.

Hi Barry-
From speaking with our support guy, it sounds like you were able to resolve the problem by reinstalling from iTunes. It sometimes can take up to 48 hours for someone to reply to your emails, but we promise that we will answer all emails as quickly as we can.
