Found Footage: iPhone clone demo video
If you are in the market for a non-iPhone cellphone that has the features/look of an iPhone, then look no further than this iPhone clone. Unlike the Instinct, this cellphone could very well be the real iPhone killer. According to Electronista, the device could be running a hacked version of Windows Mobile, however, it mimics most of the iPhone's features, right down to the music player. Either way, it's still fun to watch, and to see how long Apple takes to sue them.

As an avid Windows Mobile user for several years running, I've gotta say that these "cloned iPhone interfaces" are a dime a dozen, and they all are unusuably slow unless you are CONSTANTLY shutting down all background processes, and even then, we're not talking lickidy splits.
If you want that functionality, either buy SPB Mobile Shell and PocketPlus, or get a Touch Diamond/Pro. Trust me, I've tried em all, and most are completely worthless. SPB has at least found balance between speed and usability, and has worked very well with an OS as crippled and unoptimized as WM.

The Meizu M8 has been all over the net since a week after the original iPhone launched. First with CG mockups of what the device would look like, then screens of it's iPhone like interface running on the device and now more recently demos of the unit running this hacked Windows Mobile.
This device will never see the light of day in the U.S. and probably only be sold in china where U.S. copyright and trademarks are not enforced.

"This device will never see the light of day in the U.S. and probably only be sold in china where U.S. copyright and trademarks are not enforced."
Just to get a few things straight here:
- China operates under Chinese law. US Law does not apply in China, and vice versa.
- Since both are parties to the Berne Convention, then copyright works created in USA are also protected in China
- If a US company wants to protect their trade mark in China, then they need to apply at the Chinese IP office. A US tm registration at the USPTO has no effect in China.
- Enforcement is generally done by the parties themselves. So complaining that IP rights of US businesses are not enforced in China is basically saying that the US company won't get off its ass and do something (e.g. filing customs notices, or getting PIs to research infringement and then following up with legal action).

Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like an iPhone to me... just with a modded interface. Super-easy to do if you have the time.

If these folks -- and other cell phone manufacturers -- spent half as much time innovating as they spent copying and being reactionary, maybe most American phones wouldn't suck as badly as they do.
If everyone uses all their effort trying to be like Apple, they're always going to be a step behind.

That'd be Ogura Yuko, a Japanese idol whose talents include looking incredibly cute and...um...well, she's done some singing, and she's OK if you like saccharine pop songs done in a baby-talk kind of voice, and she's done a bit of acting too, I think.
But mostly she's just insanely cute.

If you want cheap asian iPhone knockoffs, DealExtreme has plenty that actually look like an iPhone.
Case in point, this one:

It even comes with a fake iPhone box. But now that the real one is so cheap (not to mention that the fake iPhones are illegal, at least in the US) there is really no point in buying one.

Just as painstaking slow as my Sony Ericsson P1i. Can't wait for the day, when I put this POS to its final destination...
