Iconfactory releases Twitterrific 1.1 for iPhone

The Iconfactory and its chief typist, Craig Hockenberry, have been hard at work on Twitterrific 1.1, a substantial update to their mobile Twitter client for the iPhone and iPod touch.

The update features much smoother scrolling, larger tweet capacity, the ability to save pictures to the camera roll before uploading them to TwitPic, and secure HTTPS server communication. It also squashes a large number of bugs. A full accounting of the changes is available on Twitterrific's app store page and on the Iconfactory's website.

The app was included in both Mike's and Steve's list of favorite apps for their respective iPhones.

Twitterrific is still available in two flavors. Twitterrific (the free version) periodically shows ads via The Deck, similar to its free counterpart for the desktop. Twitterrific Premium is $9.99, and omits the advertising.

Sweet, now when you want to add a photo to a tweet you can choose if you want to choose a photo or take one with the camera.

I used the free version for a while, then tried twinkle. Although I loved the little blue bird in my home screen, I removed twitterific. Twinkle does a much better job so far and the nearby function is actually quite nice.

While I like Twitteriffic. I am far from impressed with this update. The update was basically a few bug fixes and a couple of new preference settings.

Now my main gripe is probably due to the Twitter API. But I hate the fact that you cannot build your follow list in Twitteriffic. You have to go out to the real Twitter and add or remove individuals to follow. Talk about a disjointed experience! Very frustrating.

Other than that, it is a nice app.

... totally agree with crsh

back IT, now: Twitterrific (the iPhone version, the desktop version... just sucks) is just the *prittiest* GUI for Twitter. looking at features, use (and, why not: cost!) Twittelator Pro wins hands down!!!

(it's not a rickroll, only an episode of Twitter Whore, which sums up what I think of Twitter and its users oh so well)

Honestly? I find it expensive. Must be under $6.

But does it auto-refresh/update like the Hahlo web app?

Why can't they offer a package deal for the 2 apps. Buy the desktop at $xx you get the iPhone version too or vice versa?? I have yet to buy either because of this, and am just suffering with the ads....Here's to hoping they will do this!!

YES! :-)

this is the update we've all been waiting for. It addresses all of my concerns. specifically the scrolling lag, and they've added posting a photo on twitpic from my camera roll! excellent work!
