Tasks in the cloud: VITO Technology's Task2Gather
Another big PDA developer has made the jump to iPhone, with longtime Windows Mobile developer VITO Technology announcing their first product for the Apple platform -- Task2Gather.It's a task manager with a difference. Task2Gather stores all of your tasks "in the cloud", where they're not only accessible from your iPhone, but also from any web browser. The VITO Technology folks describe this functionality by saying that your wife can update your shopping list while you're at the store.
An upcoming paid subscription version of the application will provide reports, file attachments, advanced security, and more. For project teams, this would have some real utility for sharing and assigning tasks, and making project documents available on the run. Task2Gather is available in the App Store now (click opens iTunes) for $4.99.
If any of our readers have already tried Task2Gather, leave us a note in the comments to tell us about your experience.

That's not a very convincing or comforting explanation.
Interesting blog, personally I think todays Iphone lack several aspects.
A mobilephone tool that is really impressive is the new GOHELLO system, try it www.gohello.com/12b3 , I think it is for free.
It is really revolutionary,

@Steve, thanks for posting the news about Task2Gather. This is a great blog covering topics about iPhone.
@Jon Markman, I agree that Zenbe has collaboration and synching with web service. And does it allow you to discuss each task separately straight in the program? And does it have hierarchial structure that is really helpfull in some cases?
As for Task2Gather, it allows to leave comments to each task, that makes collaboration really productive. And it also has hierarchial structure.
@Mattia, we shall consider this part of the policy statement and we'll definitely correct it. It turns out to be a mistake.
I did what not many do and read their terms of agreement. I found this part very upsetting:
"Unless otherwise specifically provided herein, any materials or information submitted to, sent through or in connection with this Website by you (âUser Materialsâ), will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary, and immediately become the property of Vito Technology, subject to any privacy policies posted on this Website. Vito Technology may use such User Materials as it deems fit, anywhere in the world, without obligation for compensation, and free of any moral rights, intellectual property rights and/or other proprietary rights in or to such User Materials."
Does this mean that all todos I write, will become the property of their company? I was going to use it for professional work, but now it seems crazy - since they would have the right to steal ideas, internal news and secrets from my company.
To-do with (Toodledo and RTM) doesn't seem to support Projects?
Tried Zenbe, but there it seemed anyone could access your todos on the Internet without privacy or password.
Maybe I need to wait for Outpost. Basecamps future iPhone app?
As Josh said, Zenbe already does the important parts of what this one does (list sharing and a web interface) and it's free. I use it religiously for my To Do and Shopping Lists, and it's really convenient.
September 10 2008 at 4:17 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThere's already a to-do app that syncs with an online service. The app "Todo" syncs with either Toodledo or Remember the Milk (RTM requires a fee to use this functionality, Toodledo does not.)

Simply amazing how far down the ladder this blog has gone.
I'm using Google's Chrome browser and clicking on the embedded link to VITO Technology's site presents this message "Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer!
