PwnageTool and QuickPwn for 2.1 iPhone's released
For iPhone owners who want the benefit of the 2.1 firmware, but also want to run their jail-broken applications, the iPhone Dev Team has just released PwnageTool and QuickPwn for 2.1 devices. Please note: this does NOT work with the new iPod Touch 2g and is for iPhones or first generation Touch devices only. The Dev Team managed to work around iTunes 8 without having to patch the program, so pwners can try the new tool without worrying about altering a core OS X program.
Let us know in the comments how well Pwnage and/or Quick/Pwn is working with your device. As always, pwning is unauthorized, do it at your own risk and make sure you back-up any important information before using the tool.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Quickpwn worked with no problems for me on my touch. No restoring or anything.

So if my iPhone 3G is already jailbroken with an earlier firmware, to upgrade to 2.1 via QuickPwn, I have to first officially upgrade to 2.1 using iTunes, and then use QuickPwn, and then reinstall all my unofficial apps such as Intelliscreen and Videorecorder3g? Does QuickPwn install Cydia, SSH, etc, automatically the way Pwnage Tool does? And if I use Pwnage tool again, I still have to reinstall my non-Applestore apps?

QuickPwn worked perfectly on my iPod Touch. No issues, no problems. And the best part is that my Wiki2Touch data files (all 4GB of them) were all intact. I had to re-install the app, but that took just seconds. Excellent!!!

Does this just "pwn" it or does it unlock also?

If you have an original iPhone, you can unlock it -- but there is currently no unlock for the iPhone 3G

I jailbroke my iPod Touch a few hours ago and everything is going fine. I really missed the Bluebird theme I was using before I updated to 2.1 so I jumped on the chance to get it back.

quickpqn only supports 2.02&2.1.

this version only works or 2.1 NOT 2.0.1 or any other firmware.

You need to update to 2.1 in iTunes first, then run the Quickpwn to re-jailbreak.

What's the difference between quickpwn and pwnagetool? They seem to be both for mac.

pwnagetool is used to create a custom ipsw so you can do a full restore of the iphone os. by "custom", i mean you can choose whether to unlock, activate, change boot partition size, add cydia or installer, change boot logos, etc.
quickpwn is for when you've already updated with apple's original 2.1 ipsw and want to unlock/activate without doing a full restore.

A mi tampoco me funciona el jailbreak con el Quickmpwned me salta el error de que el firmware del iphone no es soprtado por el programa.
Esperaremos a ver los comentarios que dicen al respecto .
Mientras probare con el PwnageTool

How long does the windows version usually come out after the OS X version?

Usually the Windows version is released first, actually. I'm not sure why it was the other way around this time. Expect it in the next couple days.

@jopari
Not really. They released the first one for the first 2.x on the mac first.
