Could this be the new MacBook Pro?
A tipster sent us this image of what appears to be a MacBook Pro with a glossy screen akin to the design of a newer Intel-based iMac.
While unconfirmed, this could be the first image of the new MacBook Pro due to be released tomorrow at 10 a.m. Pacific time (1 p.m. Eastern).
TUAW will be meta-liveblogging the event live, starting a little before the event is due to begin.

That's quite believable. I look forward to ordering one tomorrow.

Sure looks credible... but where's the trackpad button??? There doesn't seem to be any. Could it be that is it now integrated within the trackpad itself? I guess that would make sense with the new screen configuration - you'd want the keyboard and the trackpad to be flush with the casing so that the lid closes perfectly with that magnetic latch...

the bigger question here is, where is the optical drive? doesnt look lke there's enough room to load from there...

It's probably on the side.

Hmm... No trackpad button. Interesting...

Does look amazing... except the "glossyness"!!
Finally the Air-like keyboard... I just bought the last MBP refresh, back in March and I was hoping for this then...
I'm guessing that in terms of hardware we won't see much of a change from the last generation... Oh well, I still have at least 1 more year to hold on to my current laptop, so... :)

Not necessarily... The tipster stated that it has a more potent processor, and two full NVidia GFx cards. SLi 9000 series, I'm assuming? That would make this around twice as powerful, taking into account the improved chipset, processor, and graphics. The memory is probably faster thanks to a better memory bus on the new chipset.

I honestly doubt SLi systems... Not worth it!
Why would Apple do that when they're known to be a bad gaming OS? (which I disagree, but that's not the point)
I think they should invest in better LCDs, better GPUs (just not SLI), better battery life and better hard drives...
But lets hope I'm wrong and along with an SLi laptop they announce tons of Mac games! :p

It probably will be SLI, but don't expect a performance boost; expect a large boost in battery life.

Leaked from the same person that leaked accurate photos of the iPod Nano. $5 says this is it.

Glossy screen? Yay! I'm no longer envious and wanting to upgrade my 5 month old MBP!

I thought the same thing... If they don't have a matte option I won't feel bad at all about my purchase 6 months ago as well... :p

I feel the same way! I bought a 2.2GHZ MBP SR used recently and love the Matte screen for my photography! If Apple forces glossy into our mouths, I forsee the prices of the "old" MBP stay relatively stable.

I smell a JR Apple Retail Store person getting fired.

Hmmm... I'm not sure I like the black keys, but I'll reserve judgement until we get big pics of it.

Think: Macbook Air! They'll look exactly like it... which I love! :D
