New iPhone Ad: Game Changer

The narrator says, "It can be a score checker, a live pitch updater, or video highlight player. But any way you cut it, it's officially a game changer."
The new commercial is called "Game Changer" and can be viewed from the iPhone ads website.
Thanks to Jack and others for the tip!

Weird app to show considering it'll be useless in a couple of weeks.

Okay, but does it allow one to stream audio or video using one's MLB account? Probably not. MLB is so tied into television revenue, that its online presence seems entirely focused on frustrating people into turning on their televisions. And they don't even give Mac owners the highest quality feed, just second tier. But you have to pay for top tier quality to get it. Ack. Until their offering is as full featured as their PC offering (and it should allow buying by team affiliation rather than everything except the team you want due to local black out - again so you turn on your stupid TV) then no thanks to anything MLB.

I saw a new iPhone ad last night, but it wasn't this one... it was an AT&T/Apple co-promotion and had dual iPhones on the screen. Same music, same voiceover guy. Anyone else seen this? It's not on Apple's site.

Narration is stupid...
At the end of the commercial you get:
"But any way you cut it... wait for it... wait for it... wait for it... wait for it... wait for it... RING wait for it... wait for it... It's a Game Changer"
WAY too much hang time.

This ad doesn't make much sense. Sure I love the application - I own and have owned before the Gamecast ability was implemented, but there is a minor flaw in this Ad. If you look at the AD - they show a 1-1 tie between the Pirates and Brewers, but once they show the clips - they play the clip entitled "Brawn's walk-off grand slam". According the the previous screen the game is still tied at 1-1 in the Top of 7th inning, and the clip is says it is the bottom of the 10th inning (hence the walk-off) MLB At Bat shows clips from the future? I understand it's a commercial - but i thought it was a funny note.
Also note - the 3G version of the clips are the same as YouTube in 3G (pixelated to the extreme)

So what. Nice to see Ryan Braun (note correct spelling) and his walk-off grand salami, probably the highlight o the season for my Brew Crew.

Sure - i messed up the spelling, oh well. I think its a great highlight, and im not saying anything about your brew crew, i just think it was funny

A friend was desperately puzzling over who the voice actor Apple is using in iPhone ads these days. Any insights?

Hey this is Jack.... i assume i am the tipper you are refering to.
I was talking about an even newer ad that aired Monday night for the first time that is not on the website yet.
It involves two iphones on a white background showing pictures of items that "work well together" on each. The images are being "flicked through". The last two images are of the Apple logo and the AT&T logo... "two things that go great together".
Good ad... Very clever

Now why is everyone suddenly a PhD in Applied Advertising Science? It's an ad, relax!

Keep in mind, it isn't an ad selling the MLB app - it's an ad selling an iPhone. And what's a good way to sell an iPhone to a captive playoff-watching baseball audience? Showing them that it can run apps that appeal to everybody - including baseball fans. The fact that the season is over has nothing to do with it.
Hickeroar said 11:48AM on 10-14-2008
I dunno, it kinda looks to me like the apple marketing dept doesn't do their research.

If you are liking the MLB At Bat app and are looking for a great football app for the Fall season, the Pro Football app is the way to go. The free app provides news, scores, standings and more for all NFL teams - you can download the app for each team you enjoy following! Just search 'Zumobi' in the iTunes store.

It's funny to see that at first the iPhone was showing the 3G icon, then it changed to the Wi-Fi icon when he pressed the Videos tab.
Also the "Sequence shortened" made me laugh.
