i. TV and Netflix buddy up for mobile queue management

iPhone media guides may be a dime a dozen (or, in the specific case of What's On TV, $0.99), but the free i.TV listings and lookup tool is starting to follow through on some of the promises for future feature development we heard when it was launched.

The new version, on the App Store now, includes third-party partnership integration with Netflix. You can manage your DVD rental queue and your instant-viewing list (if you have a supported target -- Mac streaming is "still in the works" but as we know you can sneak your way in), search the Netflix catalog, or check for DVD availability from any TV schedule listing or movie details screen.

Other new features include the addition of Wikipedia links from most movie, show and actor listings; new TV channel listings, along with an option to only show new/unaired episodes; and location-based searching for movie theaters.

i.TV says that the Netflix integration is the first of several third-party ties for the app, with more announcements coming through the end of 2008 and into 2009. Can't wait!

Agreed. i.TV crashes like a certain Ex-Gizmondo exec. I've un-installed it, again.

I looked at What's on TV, based on this article. Does the listings great, that's all I really want.

I'll pay $0.99 anytime for something that doesn't crash!

Now, if only I could get I.tv to stop crashing all the time.

I was just going to post this exact thing. i.tv crashes non-stop. How in the world could something so unstable get released just boggles my mind.

Netflix streaming for the Mac is working fine, no opting-in needed. I have an intel Mini attached to my TV. I installed Silverlight (which for a MS product actually is fairly elegant and works just fine) and then accessed the Watch Instantly with no problem. Quality is pretty good even at fullscreen. I found one movie that had the audio grossly out of sync, but the rest seemed fine. The selection isn't that great yet, but it seems as if new titles are being added daily. Great kids selections. (Even the Mario Bros TV show from the 80s is there...terrible as it may be...)

I bought Dashbuster a while ago for my Netflix queue management, and 79Lines hasn't updated it in a while; I'm honestly regretting purchasing it now because of stuff like this; i.TV is a great app, and I'm on my way to get this update now to check it out. I may be taking Dashbuster off my phone (NowPlaying already found its way off once I installed i.TV).

I've been using Dashbuster for my Blockbuster account for a while with no problems. I don't recall how much I paid for it, but I'm sure it wasn't much and has been worth every penny.
