Tip of the Day
To get an instant map to any address, just go to your Address Book and right click on the address field of any one of your contacts and select "Map Of." The address will then be revealed in Google Maps on Safari. You can do the same if a data detector determines there is an address in an e-mail in Mail.

Yeah, but good luck trying to download it. Their servers look to be pretty swamped at the moment.

And I had a screenshot all ready to send in. I just happened to sync my iPhone and this popped up. :-P

The update set my brightness back to middle level - so if your phone looks a little dim - that's why.

DAMN i just thought therer are no jailbroken options now that i need and wanted to restore, but youre post reminded me that i used the volume hack to remove the european volume cap.... damn ... so i cant go 2.2 or my iphone will be so quiet i dont even hear it ringing.
punkassjim said 1:19PM on 11-21-2008
Dude, you set your brightness all the way up? What d'you get, like, 2 hours of battery time? I set mine to about 20% with auto-adjust, and I get like two days out of the thing.
Ryan said 1:15AM on 11-21-2008
question is... Is it worth restoring my jailbroken phone to install it? The answer is: probably not.

Exactly what I was thinking... But there are no major updates in firmware 2.2 like Copy/Paste or SMS Forwarding. So its a useless update according to me. I don't think Apple is doing a great job spending months on changing Safari's look and adding Google Street View.
Changing the firmware will result in install all jailbroken apps again. Even if you use QuickPwn, then you would have to install some apps again (Springboard add-ons) or else they wont work. So its definitely a blunder to upgrade.
Ryan said 11:39AM on 11-21-2008
agreed. I'm not willing to give up streaming live video to the web, recording video to my phone, my haptic keyboard, choosing which apps I want to run in the background, using 3G for voip calls, having a camera with multiple options and zoom, being able to write SMS in landscape mode, having SMS forwarding or being able to customize the look of every detail on my phone, for the novelty of Google street view or to move the google search field somewhere new. Get real apple. Stop giving your customers bread crumbs.
