Aurora Feint II: The Arena adds asynchronous multiplayer, in-game messaging

And the goals don't stop there -- they're working on a third version of the game, which will eventually feature an offline MMO mode, as well as a very, very deep experience for a fairly casual iPhone game. "Warcraft on the iPhone" -- it's not a phrase I'd use to describe Aurora Feint yet, but it's one the creators will happily use for the future.
The early MMO features are in the App Store right now -- the app will normally be priced at $9.99, but it's currently in there for $7.99 during the holidays (the free, non-MMO version is still there as well). Pretty amazing -- this was one of the games that jumped to the forefront in terms of presentation and quality right when the App Store opened, and it doesn't look like the creators have any plans to slow it down.

Does this have a different gameplay or is it still the same slide and line the blocks game? It certainly looks nice and all, but the original wasn't really that exciting.

Yeah, what he said... the original looked great but it didn't take long before it was impossibly hard to progress - no matter how much I'd twist the display around and line up sequences, multipliers didn't always work and eventually, no matter how cool the graphics, the game play holds no more interest. Shame, it had sooo much potential!

The gameplay seems to be markedly improved over the free version, with all the little bonus power-up scenarios working much better in my experience. I am very happy I upgraded, even if just for having a seemingly better version of the free game.

Ok, i totally love the free version, it's one of the only 3 games i actually play on my iphone (the other being tetris and fieldrunners) but, really, "warcraft on the iphone"?!?!?! this is nothing more than a glorified puzzle game, comparing it to a RTS (and i really i hope they didn't mean world of warcraft) it's really ridiculous, don't you think?
