Nice List is...uh...a nice list
This has gotta stop. Three times in the last two weeks, I've said, "Wouldn't it be nice if there was an iPhone app that did this?" -- and then received an email the next day from a developer who has released the app I was thinking about. I may need to put on my tinfoil hat to keep iPhone devs from reading my mind. The latest mind invasion happened last night, when my spouse and I were out Christmas shopping for two low-income families. Barb had a list in iPhone Notes, but no way to check off the items we picked up. Today I received an email from Polar Bear Farm, announcing that they'd released Nice List, a Holiday Gift Manager for iPhone and iPod touch.
If somebody has been especially nice this year, you can add 'em to your Nice List from your address book. Once you know who you'll be gifting, you can add gifts and an estimated price. Mark off when you've bought, wrapped, and shipped presents by tapping on a special icon for each task. You can be a secret Santa by password-protecting your list.
The US$2.99 app just arrived in the App Store last night (click opens iTunes). With just 19 shopping days until Christmas, this might be a big help for your last-minute buying frenzy.

when somebody else has already thought of it, and written the actual code months before, you can't claim you thought of it. it's more like you're reading their minds, and taking credit for their creativity. too little, too late.

humor: noun, the quality of being amusing or comic

Hey, Pete. Do you know the meaning of "irony"? Look it up. ;-)
I'm not claiming supernatural powers, just being ironic.

Steven, could you use your super mind powers to communicate with the developers again? Wouldn't it be great to have an app that lets you save your bank account numbers and passwords etc. not just credit cards numbers. (Besides Cards-just not the biggest fan)
Thank you, all seeing/communicating Steven.

what about 1 password?

Splash ID and eWallet are both great apps for this.

Thanks Tony,
I don't know how I've overlooked that one! Perfect, I now own it!
B3, I tried 1 password, but it's not exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks Peeps

Another classic TUAW post - completely pointless, borderline dumb, and amazingly uninformed.
Do you ever use iTunes? Or sometimes open the AppStore on your phone?
If you did you'd see the #1 Staff Favorite is..... YES! A Christmas List management application! (and it looks about 10x nicer and better featured than Nice List)

Now, now...no need to get medieval on the man.
Actually picked up Better Christmas List and, while it is "cuter" I wouldn't necessarily say that it is better.
Nice List has separate wrap & ship buttons - very important for me.
You can also add people directly from your Address Book - something that Christmas List doesn't have.
I actually think I might have made a mistake downloading Better Xmas List...it'll be the first time I've done this w/ an app, but I think I'm going to get Nice List as well...my kingdom for trial apps in the iTunes Store!!!

Steven, you Saint! "shopping for two low-income families". Nice touch. I'm sure they'll enjoy their $399 iPhone. And nothing rings out the holidays like the Christmas classic "Saw IV". I hope you got them the Blu-Ray edition to go with that Blu-Ray player you put under their tree last year.

Haha.

Ha! That's what I get for picking a screenshot provided by the developer and not really looking at what's on it!!!
