Music video shot entirely on an iPhone

Behold, what is claimed to be the world's first music video shot entirely on an iPhone.

This gem comes to us from GOSHone, A self-described "mad scientist with computers, gadgets, and musical equipment and stuff," G1 used his jailbroken iPhone and a copy of Cycorder to produce what I can only describe as a little slice of wonderful. I can't verify with any certainty that this is, in fact, the "world's first," but I'm going to go with it.

GOSHone says that, while making the video was fun and relatively pain-free, he did struggle with the lack of a preview screen, and "tried to rely on the shiny black back and the chrome Apple logo for reflection." That's a simple, clever trick I hadn't thought of, mostly because I always have a case on my iPhone.

Have a look at his video, then download his free album. It's good stuff.

Thanks to Valerie for sending this in.

would be even more awesome if he had used Beatmaker to do the music:

I'm glad he kept it short and sweet.

And "open like linux" makes me happy.

One thing, those drums sounded like they had a hole in them...

And the synth needed some more Mids.

Maybe it was just YouTube.

So have you ever wanted to try to make your facebook page unique? It's pretty hard considering you can't change colours of your background or text. I decided to do some research and see if I could add some cool pictures or something to make my profile stand out, than I came across a site www.hypster.com that let you make a free account and add music players to your facebook page! not only that but you can change the colours to! so not only will your new facebook profile be playing one of your favourite songs but it will be your favourite colour or colours! please take a look! And if you don't have facebook, this site's codes also work for myspace, bebo, piczo etc. take a look at www.hypster.com

Warren G and Snoop must be the only two rappers you've ever heard. He sounds nothing like either of them!

That video was pretty clear during some parts. Hard to believe the creativity boosts some people get from the iPhone.

It may be the first music video done on an iPhone, but certainly not the first piece of "legit" entertainment acquired on cellphone technology. These videos were made with 6 camera phones simultaneously, edited on FCP, 2005.

Does everything have to innovative to be musical or popular?

Can't say I liked the song, but I can't say I *didn'*t like it either. He's got a good voice—kinda reminds me of a mix between Warren G and Snoop—and the production was relatively decent.

I've heard better from Indie artists and I've definitely heard much much worse. He at least knows when to quit—4 minutes of that might be have been too much. Hip-hop has always been about using the tools at hand, kind of a DIY aspect—for example, looping old funk records back and forth on 2 turntables to create a beat while the MC rapped over the top—and using an iPhone to shoot a music video certainly falls into that category.
