Weekly World News reports Macworld Expo threatened by death ray app

Steve Jobs is reported to have taken time out from constructing an android body that will allow his consciousness to live forever to condemn the rogue app. He's quoted as saying "Apple does not approve of this application. Death ray technology and open source software are dangerous when released to the general public and are not in keeping with our corporate policy."
The report was later updated to note that "Specialized Apple gear, like an iPod equipped gas mask or the iLive full body armor with wifi, is will be available at the convention. Apple's executives will attend the convention via telecom from the iFallout Shelter."
Stay tuned to TUAW for more breaking news about this important, and obviously true, story.

In other news, longtime readers of TUAW stop visiting the site permanently after yet another horrible decision in content, and search elsewhere for pertinent & relevant Apple related content.
Idiots. An Erica-free zone only gets you so far......

I have to agree with the other comments here; please delete this post. I read TUAW for the information and news. Being "new to Mac" myself, the site has, until now, been invaluable. I know this post was made in jest, but without a disclaimer saying "this is bunk and funny stuff we found on another site", it comes off as being credible and from your site. Especially when the WWN "quotes" Mr. Jobs, which we all know is a blatant lie, and your site has a real quote from him a few stories down on the page. Sorry, just really frustrated by this lack of integrity.

Someone has been watching too much 'Ghost in the Shell'.
Steve Jobs does strike me, however, as the type of person who would be interested in Transhumanism. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't have it in his will that his brain be cryogenically frozen should brain cyberization become feasible (in the near future--let's face it, it'll happen).
Glad you TUAW writers are having fun. Keep on writing, no matter how unusual the topic may be.

These commenters talk like it physically pains them to skip past articles they don't like.
At least we know that some of them will be leaving.

Physically pains? Nope. Waste of my time? Yep. Hey, keep posting articles written by 12 year olds all you want, just don't include them on your (my) RSS feed.

I like the WWN, it's not as obvious to the dipstick dingbats as the Onion is.

Surely the headline "Weekly World News reports..." gave you bunch of whinging commenters some indication that what followed was likely to be far fetched and not even remotely based on fact.
Is skipping on or two posts that much trouble for you?
