Facebook for iPhone and iPod touch updated to version 2.1

In the online social networking space you've got your big guns: MySpace, to a lesser extent Twitter and for business users, LinkedIn. Facebook is also extremely popular and now, Facebook's client for iPhone and iPod touch has been updated to version 2.1.

Among the changes for this update include fewer crashes (that's an important one), corrected timestamps for all time zones, improved sync time and faster loading of the inbox. It's also worth noting that Facebook for iPhone and iPod touch requires iPhone 2.2 firmware.

Other iPhone and iPod touch apps updated recently include Pandora, Things, Darkslide, Lists and the trifecta of iSteam, iFog and icanhascheezburger. So, fire up iTunes or the Applications app on your iPhone / iPod touch and go get 'em!

Be sure to let us know how they work in the comments.

The update worked fine for me but I couldn't see a single change. Date stamps are still 8 hours off.

Loading this caused my iPhone to totally crash. I'm having to restore it from backup. Don't do it!!

The update went fine but timestamps are still way off. Lame.

Bricked my iPhone too. I upgraded the app directly onto the iPhone. It reset during the install and went into the iPhone recovery mode. Had to restore from iTunes. Glad it didn't happen during the day when I need my phone!

Irritating. Time stamps worked correctly for like a day, but now everything is "3 hours" again. How hard can it be to get it to display correctly?

I, too, first had the application brick, then the entire phone, all while at work during the day without my laptop and cord. Had to go home and restore my entire phone. Now it turns out I lost a bunch of numbers that had been entered into my phone that I had yet to back up. Awesome!
