Done goes live, Chillix announces winners

Done, the $0.99US iPhone task list manager we mentioned a little while back, is now live in the App Store. It's pretty slick, and falls right in the middle between a simple task list and a robust task management application like Things or OmniFocus. We hosted a contest in that last post, passing on a request from the developers for witty lists, the best of which (chosen by the developers) would be used in the App Store marketing materials. You all came through, and winners were chosen from the ranks.

The winners, chosen by Chillix, are KJP, Chad, Kevin, Todd, Gary & Kurt!

Some of the winners posted directly on the Chillix site, some posted here. If your list was chosen and you haven't been contacted yet, expect to hear from the developers soon. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Great ideas for PR!
Though I'm also set with Todo apps for iPhone. I use Task2Gather on the regular basis (http://task2gather.com).

I like the simplicity of the app but there is one thing that perhaps could be made even more simpler. Done's unique selling point is the ability to set your task lists as wallpaper, so why do I have to scroll through several items to set the picture as my wallpaper?

Think about it: you have to click the "take list and morph into photo"-button, tap OK, click the home-button, tap into Settings, into Background, Photo Library, select the list you want and than accept it. That are what, 8 actions from the user? How is this in any way more convenient? Sure, you can view your list everytime you unlock your phone, but is that worth it?

The first time TUAW wrote a post about Done, I was stoked about the thing. Now is it just another simple to-do manager with a twist. A shame.

This is, unfortunately, a limitation of the SDK. Several other applications in various genres have implemented a similar feature, but it's not currently possible to change the iPhone's wallpaper from within an application. It would certainly be nice, though, and in cases like Done, highly practical.

Although I'm all set with Todo apps ("Todo" by Appigo being my favorite), the whole "take a photo of your todos and set them as your wallpaper" feature seems pretty smart to me. Are you listening, Appigo?

Can you put the price for all apps you review? Thanks!

Apologies, I'm usually pretty good about that :).

Done is currently priced at $0.99US for a limited time; the price will go up to $2.99 (I believe) shortly.
