Proposing with an iPhone app

Unfortunately, Wired doesn't tell us if she said yes, but it's Valentine's Day, so we'll assume she did. The app must have been distributed ad-hoc, too, because we don't see it on the App Store at all (not too surprising, considering that as cool as it is, it's got some limited functionality). But congrats to Haggerty and Choe -- if they run into any issues at the ceremony, there's probably an app for that too.

So... I take it it's a jailbreak app, or did he actually get it approved by Apple?

Ad-hoc distribution is a provision by Apple that lets you distribute your app to a limited number of iPhones/iPod touches without having to submit it to the App Store, i.e. if the app is only ever going to be used by your company's own employees. No jailbreaking required.

if those screenshots are accurate, it's obviously a web app and not a native iphone app.

In this sense, "iPhone app" meaning the pre-SDK version of the term when Steve wants people to code for Mobile Safari.

That's very sweet... I love the idea of being proposed to by someone that gets how "into" Mac I am!

Who in their right mind would propose via an iPhone App.
I would say yes, take their money and their iPhone and then divorce them for being stupid.

Who in their right mind would assume that if someone likes something they don't, that person is "stupid?" (And who in their right mind would post a question and forget to use a question mark? Who's stupid now?)

I know Bryan. We used to work together at JPMorgan. I saw this and gave him a shout.
