Rumor: New iMacs around the bend
MacNN reports today that the long-anticipated refresh of the iMac line -- including the new NVIDIA graphics subsystems -- may be just around the corner. Supplies of the existing models are said to be lean in the channel and education sales team members are supposedly extending high discounts to customers in order to clear out the existing inventory. While things have been Perry Mason tense between Intel and NVIDIA (worse today, if you caught Engadget's story) it would seem from the MacNN tipster that the legal dispute over integration with Intel's new processors won't prevent new iMacs from hitting the street. That's a relief, if true; I've heard from multiple people in the past week or two who really want to buy a new iMac but are holding out for the model refresh.

Have now had an email and a voicemail to see if I need any help with my incompleted iMac order. With mentions of price reduction.
Coincidence?
Or are they just trying to give this rumoor some credibility?
Personally, I would love for Apple to cover that gap between the iMac and Mac Pro lines. If not, Mac Pro refresh, please!! I've been holding out for too long.

February 25 2009 at 12:48 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyDespite the economy, job insecurity, new baby on the way, blah blah blah, I've had the purchase of a new iMac budgeted since last fall.
I can't bring myself to buy something outdated or soon-to-be obsolete, so I am honestly thinking of buying a PC if the iMac is not released shortly. If sh*t gets too much worse though, I'm scrapping the whole shebang.
Get on the ball Apple. I can't be the only one hoarding precious dollars in preparation for the new models.
please, please let the new imacs address more 4GB of ram
