TV.com gives Trekkers a streaming treat for iPhone: full episodes on demand

Just as Hulu has more-or-less reluctantly barred boxee from streaming NBC video content to anything other than a browser, here comes the new TV.com iPhone app. It offers full episodes of such classics as Dream On, Night Gallery and Star Trek, and clips from current shows on multiple networks. Compare and contrast with the original NBC mobile site and you'll see that mobile streaming has come a long way, baby.Sure, the Slingplayer app for the iPhone may be just around the corner, and rumors of a Hulu app have been floated. Does that give you Kirk and Spock during your morning commute? No, I didn't think so.
CBS Interactive's TV.com app is a free download from the App Store, and works either over WiFi or 3G. I have a hunch it's not going to be available outside of the US store, so if you're able to check that out please let us know. Update: As suggested, I checked myself -- not in the UK store, not in the German store.

Surely YOU can check that for yourselves? Switch to a foreign itunes store (you can do so from the bottom of your itunes store homepage), and run a search.
Or is this to fill some mandatory reader participation quota?

have you got nothing better to do than whine about nothing.

Oof. Truthfully, it was late and I completely forgot that I COULD check the other stores. Post updated.
That said, the feedback from readers noting that even if you do install the app the content is blocked is still valuable, and not something I could easily test domestically.

Yes it's Trekkies. Gene Roddenberry said so. Good enough for me.

I was able to download it from the US Store and use it in Mexico using HotpotShield: http://www.hotspotshield.com/clientless/iphone/

I'm in Canada and, similar to Tofi Buzali, switched to my US iTunes account, downloaded the app, and tried it out over HotSpotShield's VPN. Works very nicely.

Apple applying same stupid policy here, that is, even though the app is free you must have a US ITunes account in order to download it. WOW and the iphone is an international success. Come on Apple!!! You can do so much better than this!

The choice to limit it to only the US iTunes Store is probably due to the streaming being limited to US consumers do to copyright and broadcasting issues.

Afraid that it is more than that since there are several other apps on the appstore that I could download and test that are no longer available to me (even though they are free). Apple must have changed policy?? I keep getting the same message that I can only buy apps that are available on the Swedish ITunes site.
Sad…
