BeeJive IM offers up sale, tells of Facebook chat feature
BeeJive IM [iTunes link], the ultimate instant messenger application for your iPhone/iPod touch, will be on sale this week, beginning on Monday, March 2, 2009. The application will be available for $9.99US (down from $15.99US). While this application is a bit pricey, we agree that it's one of the best instant messenger applications on the iPhone. This sale is expected to last from March 2 through Sunday, March 8, 2009. With news of sale also comes the news that a new feature will soon be added to BeeJive IM. The guys at BeeJive have let us know that in just a few more weeks, we'll see Facebook chat integration from right in the app. BeeJive IM is available from the iTunes App Store.

Grab it while it's cheap. I got it at full price and consider it the best money I've spent in the app store. It's great, and there's continued development (a rarity in the app store) which shows that the high entry price is funding continued development, not just being pure profit.

Adium should consider entering as a paid app

They've had a bit to say about that:

[they say there are many "technical challenges" in the way]

I dunno. Somehow I just can't bring myself to spend 10 bucks on a chat program.

Get it. Best IM app for the iPhone hands down. Adding Facebook to it will make it just about perfect.

Didn't you read ? It's down to 10$!

It's $16 normally, but I bought on a previous sale just like this one. Besides, I'm pretty sure the article is about how it's on sale for $10.. Stop being a big panzie.

LOL! I'm going through a bad patch at the moment of paying full price for software which then gets the price slashed. In the case of Beejive, I don't mind a bit. Absolutely model software, well worth £10. It's the best I've tried by so far that I just feel a little awkward for competitors.
Having gushed that much about it, I should probably do the whole "don't work for them, no affiliation, not trying to get it on with one of the developers etc etc etc" thing.

Wow! Facebook chat support. That's great.
While I do think this app drains the battery charge a bit quickly, I'd definitely love to have Facebook chat on my phone.

You do with the free facebook app

This is ridiculous. I mentioned this on the piracy of apps thread. But these developers don't quite seem to understand this market.
There is NO VALUE in a $16 chat application. Though the functions may be better than AIM mobile et al, what you are paying for is a chat app at the end of the day.
The pricing is disgusting. And they should be ashamed of themselves for calling a $10 app a sale.

first of all screw aol for not making a decent AIM client on the iPhone. And screw $10 for an AIM client. I'll suffer with how little I use my iPod touch to talk on aim. $5 and maybe we have a deal... $10 is ridiculous.

I was very hesitant to buy this app at first, but I ended up paying the $16 and it is the best app I have my my iPhone and is well worth the money I paid. I can't wait to get facebook chat in the next update, I just wish the update would come sooner rather than later!
