MLB At Bat ready for 2009
My all-time favorite iPhone app, MLB's At Bat [App Store link], is all new for the 2009 baseball season. For the uninitiated, At Bat provides nearly real-time statistics for ongoing games, including scoring, current batter and pitcher, stats, the count at the plate ... even video clips from a game that's in progress. Late last year they added MLB Gameday for pitch-by-pitch updates, and the full '09 version (when it launches) will extend that with support for Gameday audio. You'll be able to listen to the home or away broadcast of any game. That's great.
For now, you can download At Bat Lite, which includes scores from pre-season games as well as news from throughout the league before opening day. As a baseball fan, I love At Bat. It's worth the $5US price tag many times over.

This would be for the lite version. The full version won't be available until later.

Duh! Guess I should have read the whole post before replying. Generally that is the right way to go.

Try "Pro Football Live!" or the $1.99 "Pro Football Live Plus!" from Plusmo, Inc.
I've been quite happy with the free version.

How will it be priced? Will it remain at $5 and allow any Gameday Audio subscribers access, or will the cost of a Gameday Audio subscription ($15) be added in, thus bringing the price to $20? I already have an MLB.TV Premium subscription, so Gameday Audio is included. I don't want to have to pay twice.

It's a one time flat fee of $4.99 in the app store. Gameday audio is included.

Has MLB announced a 2009 price for At Bat? Remember, it was released midseason, so I expect it to be more than $5 for the season, especially now with the audio.
And @directeco its not a 1 time flat rate. It's a 1 time flat rate PER YEAR.

Don't expect the price of the 2009 version of MLB.com At Bat to be $4.99. If you remember last year, the 2008 version came out Aug 27th. Well after the midpoint of the 2008 baseball season.
The price changed as the season progressed. On Oct 1st, the price dropped to $2.99 for the post season. It dropped to $0.99 on Oct 20th for the World Series. Then finally dropped to Free on Oct 30th for just news in the off season.
I got all this info from AppShopper.com.
My expectation is that MLB.com At Bat for 2009 will sell for $9.99. I don't have a problem with that price at all. It's still well worth the price for the info you get and if they add the game day audio for the same price, it's a steal!

This could get me to drop one of my XM Radio subs in favor of this app, if Gameday audio pans out. Right now it's one of the only reasons I'm holding on to an additional radio.

They've said that it will be available before the regular season starts for less than $10. I agree that it will probably be $9.99.
That's an excellent deal considering everything you're getting (mainly Gameday audio). Last year's was $4.99 and it didn't even have Gameday play-by-play at the time.
I am an MLB.TV Premium subscriber and will gladly pay $10 for the chance to listen to the games on my iPhone.

I don't think there's a way for MLBAM to allow existing Gameday Audio/MLB.TV subscribers to receive the full At Bat for free or for a reduced price due to Apple's App Store restrictions.
