Found Footage: Controlling radio control aircraft with an iPhone

Take one radio-controlled airplane or helicopter, add a Wi-Fi router and some custom software, then mix in an iPhone's accelerometer and touch interface. What do you get? An R/C aircraft controller.

Joshua Ziering loves to fly radio-controlled 'copters and planes, and he describes exactly how he went about developing an app and the associated hardware to control their flight by tilting his iPhone and moving throttle controls on the screen in a post on his blog. Dumbest app Idea ever...

I fly Helies and Planes... phone rings and your app backgrounds with a bird in the air meant at least your probably buying a new bird, at worst you kill someone (yes, RC helies and planes have killed people before)

Novel idea... and ok if you put the thing in airplane mode... I would still doubt the effectiveness with helies... as you need VERY accurate and very quick response...

Oh my God! I know the "Not iPhone" button is at the top but if I press that I barely get one article a day.

What happened to this blog?

@Heebie: Maybe its because little is happening with Apples other 'chair legs' right now.

I've heard little to suggest the AppleTV is having any major updates, the Mac news is pretty much the same tired old rumours we've heard for a while - Tablet mac, MacBook Mini... At least their is some degree of interesting stuff going on with the iPhone/iPod Touch right now due to some developers really trying to explore what can/can't be done with them.
