32 GB iPhone appears temporarily on T-Mobile Austria site

The sharp-eyed writers at iPhone Buzz pointed out that the T-Mobile Austria site was showing a placeholder for a 32GB iPhone earlier today -- at least until someone at T-Mobile pulled the item.

In case you've been off-planet for awhile and haven't kept up with the news, speculation is rampant about when the next iPhone will appear or be announced, and what new features we can expect. Industry pundit John Gruber, for example, speculated in an article yesterday that the next-gen device would have more storage (like the 32 GB described here), more internal memory -- 256 MB, a 600 MHz processor to replace the existing 400 MHz model, a built-in electronic compass, an autofocus lens, and video capabilities.

The Austrian faux pas appears to be proof that at least one of the features, more storage, is going to appear on whatever new iPhone may be coming our way soon. Speaking of that new iPhone, take our poll (below) and let us know when you think it will be shipping.

When will the next iPhone be released?
During WWDC the week of June 8th2513 (39.7%)
June 26th - last Friday in the first half of 20091350 (21.3%)
July 17th - Just because it sounds good1794 (28.4%)
Who cares? I hate iPhone news!306 (4.8%)
There will be no more iPhones. The Palm Pre rules!365 (5.8%)

You forgot an important option for this poll:
"- This poll is absolute nonsense and stupid!"

hey, i have a question. if the iPhone is introduced at the wwdc on the 8th, does that mean that on the 8th, you will be able to buy the new iPhone, or does it mean they will say when it will be available at stores, for example July 11?

I'm not smart enough to even comprehend what some of you are saying (broken English aside), and chances are, I won't be smart enough to use an iPhone either. If that logic is true, then I'll just stick to pen/paper and stamps for all my communication needs, which really is okay by me, as I intended to live a slow, deliberate, relaxed, untethered life that isn't filled with up-to-the-minute useless information I'll have forgotten in 30 seconds due to its true irrelevance...

Enjoy your weekend! :)

Everything have some value, the destruction for joy is something absurd.

Apple have their credits for the bright concept of several equipment and can´t be denied.

But the expectations were high in this product...

Cmon there are big phone companies out there with great specs... dont make the development of your own equipment limit you learn to share profit, i´m sure Apple would gain much more...

Cmon guys, i like apple but is ridiculous the 32 gb storage even the specs of apple iphone that is to come is absurd, like resolution of the camera, i´m sure Apple when was having a walk through Taipei enter in wrong door and brought in my opinion bad solution to their equipment. ----- This comment is supported by the rumours about the supposed equipment of iphone -----

You bad Apple dont let WinDows RULE.

If this ease your hurt pride I love IpodT

My vote: whenever. As long as they keep it locked to AT&T so used ones still sell for a premium I'll be happy. :-) Jinto: You're right, it's a given that a new model will be bigger. The bigger news here is that this is more evidence that a new one will be introduced.
