App updates, get yer fresh app updates -- maybe
As someone who is pretty addicted to downloading tons of apps on my now-antiquated iPhone, there are a lot of apps I just download, try, and forget. Like the 30+ fart apps I tried for a video, none of which I deleted. I have a thing about throwing stuff away, OK? Anyway, after all the OS 3.0 bruhaha died down, I decided to see what updates were available for the apps I keep. Two hundred. I have two hundred apps, many of them lite versions, itching to wiggle up into my download queue in iTunes.Compounding my rather large and embarrassingly out-of-date queue of apps, I got a "mature content" warning for an app, although Apple never tells you which app might have the inappropriate content. Just a warning that some crazy crap is in that list of 200, so don't go giving your iPhone to the kids -- or something. Worse yet is I'm still getting the -4 error many, many users are complaining about (note: it basically means Apple's servers are getting hammered). So, for now, all my updates are belong to Apple's servers.
What apps are you updating?

i downloaded ap mobile and set to accept the push notifications. then i went and made sure everything was right in settings.
however, as of now, i have still not receiving any notification on anything new. strange.
is anyone else having this problem?
Yeah, no push notes from AP News yet. Just going to have to wait for one of my apps to use this feature.

BTW I also reset my password and checked again and the phone still states my password is wrong.
Odd
200 apps! Good lord man. And those are just the ones with updates!

June 17 2009 at 5:54 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe -4 error has caused a really weird issue with me. I have 2 macs, a MBP and a Mac Pro. I got my iPhone updated, and updating the apps worked and required the acceptance of the new policies which seems to have followed to my MBP. I also have an Apple TV and was watching shows.. when the show I was on ended, all my ITMS purchased content disappeared, but things not DRMed are still there. I'm guessing that iTunes on the Mac Pro (which is the primary for the aTV) needs to have the new terms accepted too.. but that's where I'm hitting the -4 error.
Purchased content on my MBP still works via shared stuff.
First issue like this I've run into with the aTV.
Took a couple hours, but now that the load on the store dropped a new sync made the purchased content show up again. Just another big negative to DRM'd content.

June 17 2009 at 5:45 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI have to imagine the push servers might be overloaded for a while since everyone is trying out the new stuff.
Kinda like how the itunes servers are right now
well...
did anyone receive ANY notification yet?
what apps can you see in the notification tab?
in my case, i can see tap tap, not ap news or any other recently updated app. and no, i haven't received any notifications at all.
Push working great. You need to open AP news then it offers the option for receiving push notifications then you set up in the settings panel. I have TEXTFREE and it is instantaneous notification if I send email text to myself from laptop. Amazing! Your gonna love it.
you see, i open AP and wait for ages, but no permission to push comes. tried rebooting, tried deleting app and redownloading.
