Can't upload pix to MobileMe? Apple has a fix for that
If you've been trying to upload a picture from your iPhone to a MobileMe gallery, and are getting the message "Unable to connect to MobileMe" message you're not alone. The problem appears to be related to a bug in user name recognition. Apple has published a KB article dealing with the issue. The problem seems to be triggered if your member name is in mixed case, or if it is in all caps. MobileMe requires the user name be in all lower case letters, although the same rule does not apply to passwords.
Apple suggests you go to your iPhone settings, and under account info make sure your name is all lowercase. If not, a visit to the KB article would be advised. The fix is simple: just delete and re-enter your account details, getting your member name in a form Apple will like. When the bug is fixed, this workaround won't be needed.
Apple needs to continue to pay close attention to MobileMe. My perception is it has become generally more reliable since the ugly launch in 2008, but the support page still reports a few new glitches per week. Lately I've noticed a few mail outages/slowness and difficulty getting to my iDisk.

My problem is uploading photos from my eye-fi card - MobileMe seems to think I'm putting in the wrong username or password... I hope this helps.

One can not upload from the iPhone if your website is made in Aperture. An error occurs.
The whole MM thing is just not thought through at all. Oh yeah, I have three iPhones all upgraded from the original on each introduction.
Apple is not thinking the whole integrated thing through. Well maybe they are, they are just not implementing at all.

That makes a lot of sense though. OSX is based of Unix, unix is very case sensitive in everything not just passwords.

I can't believe people actually pay for MobileMe. What a rip-off and unstable system.

Hey I like Mobile Me. If you look hard enough you can find reasons to trash any Internet service but what MM does well is worthwhile.

I had problems with my MobileMe e-mail when I first got it. It definitely didn't like the uppercase letters I was using.

The MobileMe web apps are painfully slow to use and not especially feature rich. But the service works well through the iPhone and Mac desktop apps. I buy it at a discount and it's worth it under that case considering the relief of knowing that my PIM data is always up to date everywhere. I wouldn't pay full price.
