AT&T states more MMS details for Friday

As the AT&T iPhone MMS launch is only one day away now, Engadget is reporting that they heard some launch details from AT&T. Specifically, AT&T has stated that it expects MMS for the iPhone to launch in the "late morning" Pacific time, which would mean it "early afternoon" Eastern time.

Also, this update will arrive as a carrier settings update, which means you'll have to connect your iPhone to iTunes to update. These updates are very small and don't require a restart. Just make sure you and your iPhone are ready to update on Friday.

Hey Guys,
There is an interesting event at Stanford GSB on Oct 20 about Mobile Payments, thought it might interest some of you here. Check it out http://www.vlab.org/article.html?aid=283

There's an unofficial carrier update floating around that I've had on my 3GS for a while now. Since reading this post, I tried MMS and it's working :-)

Happy dance ensues!

I wish there was a carrier out there who can handle the iPhone with no problem without crippling it

If it's requiring a download through iTunes how did all these other people wind up randomly getting MMS? Those seemed to be updated OTA.

Most people who work for a living use their cells more during the week. That's why nights and weekends are free, lots of available bandwidth. Weekend texters are mostly teenyboppers.

Will this force 3G users to update to iPhone 3.1? I've been holding off to avoid the battery issues as I NEED my only phone to actually function without completely discharging the battery.
