The AT&T MMS launch: How was it for you? A TUAW Poll

The long awaited and much vilified AT&T MMS service was finally launched in the U.S. yesterday. I've scoured the Apple support boards, and it seems like it was pretty tame, with some reports of failure to get the update, failure to get the MMS functions after an update, late delivery of MMS messages, and so on.

In my own circle of friends it seemed to go OK, but most of them didn't need MMS and didn't really care about it one way or the other.

So how was it for you? The update of your dreams, or your worst nightmare?

Question...why can't I send audio? Why can't I receive an mms from a sub 150 msrp phone properly? I can't receive a pic with background music or vocals. It comes through as two messages (2 attatchments). That ruins the fun of funny mms. Plus how in the world can you forward these multiple part messages? I may be ignorant, but I don't think it's capable to pull off these things. My favorite times of catching something cool on a pic and putting down with a funny audio clip are gone. I thought we're moving forward, not backwards. However, the iPhone is great! Especially to a ex ATT wireless, Cingular wireless, and pacific bell salesperson that has used every phone in the book.

ugly. updated Friday, no MMS. called them to re-provision the account - i had tried to get early MMS unsuccessfully and figured this might have made things worse. ok, re-provisioned...still no MMS. i gave up on it at this point.

then late Saturday i find out that TXT and voicemail aren't working. i call ATT again...except customer service is closed. for whatever reason, i decide to open the ATT iPhone app - and low and behold...i have NO messaging plan on my account. added it and MMS was working about 5 minutes later. no thanks to the rep on Friday.

Since the "upgrade", 5 bar reception went down to none, and 3G went to E at work. Not good.

Worked fine for me. I used Terminal to disable the iTunes OS check; manually downloaded the carrier file; used Opt + Update to only upgrade the new carrier file; and now I have MMS on my Jailbroken 3.01 GS.

Works fine for me, but have only tested with other AT&T users.

The only problem I have is when I type text in first...then add the pic. If I add the pic first...then type text it goes thru fine.

To clarify....I didn’t have the problem...the recipient did.

STILL not working for me, on SUNDAY. AT&T becomes more worthless to me by the day, after the worst service ever from verizon (i had verizon for about 7 years before i had cingular/at&t) i didn't think i could hate any provider as much as i still despise verizon, but AT&T is coming closer by the day with their horrible service and terrible excuses for why their service sucks so bad.

It works fine. But anybody I send pictures or videos to already has a smart phone so I don't have much of a use for it. And since MMS heavily compresses attached content I'd rather send large media files via email anyway.

There should be a "I've already had MMS for months" option on that poll.
