Any opinions on whether WriteRoom is worth $2? I have TextExpander for my iPod Touch and am tempted to take advantage of this deal.

Wi-Fi sharing and WriteRoom.ws (now SimpleText.ws) sync are worth it. BTW, Tweetie 2.0 will also support TextExpander SDK.

The syncing did seem like a nice feature. TextExpander in Tweetie 2.0 will be tempting, though SimplyTweet is my client of choice on my iPod Touch. I have been prodding that dev to incorporate TextExpander's SDK into it. With Tweetie adding it, I hope it will spur him on. Otherwise, I may have to, against my instincts, go ahead and shell out another $3 for the Tweetie upgrade.

WriteRoom is the cleanest note program on the iPhone. Like the Mac program, you are just given a screen to enter your words without anything getting in your way. I really think that I am much more productive with both the iPhone app and the Mac program.

I've used WriteRoom for years on the Mac, and now use the iPhone app as my primary writing tool on the iPhone. You'll also find great support if you happen to have issues. (Just grabbed the TextExpander app..).

I appreciate how quickly Writeroom starts up and how simple it is to write new notes and get them online. However, once you start accumulating notes, that simplicity becomes a liability, since you cannot reorder notes or organize them into folders. It's the classic trade-off of simplicity and quickness vs. features.
