Steve Ballmer's Windows 7 pitch features MacBook Pro in the background

Talk about embarrassing. Steve Ballmer guest hosted on NBC's Today Show yesterday to talk about the Windows 7 launch. Sadly for Steverino, Matt Lauer talked a lot about Apple and the iPhone. Even worse, sharp eyes noticed an NBC-produced graphic in the background with a Windows 7 logo appearing on the screen of what clearly is a Mac laptop.

You can watch the video here. That's probably not the kind of quality control Microsoft would have liked.

Thanks to Bill for sending this in (no, not Bill Gates)

One has to wonder if the graphics department did this on purpose. After all, they're probably using Macs.

they think we want to read it because we do. Maybe TUAW should start two blogs. one for mature-serious-no-jokes-why-can't-we-love-all-computer systems-the-same people, and then one for us original mac fans, who use mac because we love it and think windoze sucks and will take any opportunity to bash it.

I don't understand this recent rise in sympathy for microsoft or wish for apple to "grow up" or something. What the hell? Come on! Where apple users, just live it up!

I don't think it's lame - I think it makes sense to avoid running Windows for mission critical presentations - as they have had many problems n the past.

Common sense tells us to avoid using Windows, and to prefer Linux for anything we wish to be reliable or secure. I'm very impressed with Skalpa - who bought a MacPro and runs Windows 7 on it. Surely a man with money to throw away!

Haha, this is exactly what I was thinking!

Why does TUAW think we want to read this sort of article?

Your comment made me laugh!

> have you seen his face, the guy reeks of fail.
> Too bad for us he also reeks of alot of money

Life is unfair isn't it ? This guy is as ugly as your mother, and he's super rich while she has to sell her ass to survive.

Moron...

You can only 'watch the video here' if you're in the US of A. :(

Okay, here's the deal: The laptop may not be a MacBook or just another gray laptop you see on your shelf. But the mere fact that Microsoft lead us to believe that they used a MacBook as a props for promoting Windows 7 - - Is your final answer for this hilarious show .. May it be a MacBook or not

See our detailed review and the video: http://pinoytutorial.com/techtorial/nbcs-today-show-windows-7-featured-on-a-macbook-pro/

(pinoytutorial team are uploading the vid on youtube..as we speak)

Yep I think this was a purposeful inclusion by Miscrosoft rather than a stuff up. Although you can't rule that out.

They are saying to us Mac Users. Hey buy Windows 7 it works on your computer too. If it was on purpose, subtle, and it's got us talking about it. So mission accomplished ;p
