I have installed it and Win7 on it but in Activity Monitor doesn't appear as a 64 bit application. Any help?

"VMWare Fusion" will only show as 32 bit, but the key process under the hood doing the work are all 64 bit. Look for "vmware-vmx" when a Virtual Machine is running.

Adding onto what Tom said, you have to select "All processes" from the menu on the top of activity monitor.

Yes, if you have any video card less than nVidia 9400, aero will not work. I was part of the beta testing so I know :D

Hi,
I have an old Mac Pro with 2 Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT and I can run windows 7 with aero...

Using Fusion?
akcpe said 2:20PM on 10-27-2009
Yeah I have the 8600GT in my 15" MBP and Aero works fine.

John,
Yes, I'm running Fusion 3.0.0 (Build 204229). I download it today.

My bad. I meant that the aero is dependent on your graphics card. Anything less than a nVidia card or ATI card will not be supported with aero. For example, the Intel integrated graphics won't support aero.

Hi
Can anyone tell me is VMware is better than Parallels? I have Parallels 4 and I know 5 is in beta.
Thanks in advance

I was (and still am) part of the beta testing for Fusion 3.0 and Parallels 5. I hate to say it but Parallels is preforming better on my low level Macbook than Fusion. Fusion runs better than Parallels on my iMac, though. If you don't care...I'd suggest getting Fusion.

Wasted a bunch of time on their website trying to buy the upgrade as well. The system that checks for registered items kept telling me it couldn't find my registration, then I'd register it (even though I was already registered), then I'd get a broken page saying at the top "We found an eligible serial" and at the bottom "can't find an eligible serial". WTF?
Save your time and frustration. Don't bother with trying to upgrade for a few days until they figure this out!
I don't know why they didn't offer boxed upgrades at retail? Then some people could have avoided their website mess...

Ditto on the broken website. I know I've registered, but it says I haven't. When I try to register, it says "Internal error".

I'm pretty sure if you bought this on a MacUpdate Promo, you aren't eligible for upgrade pricing. It's happened several times before - maybe it's the case now?

I had the same problem. After using a link (Product Registration ?) from the menu of VMWare Fusion login was no problem.
