Giant iPhone wedding cake threatens to devour us all
Or maybe it was devoured first? Jerry Brito emailed a link to his wedding cake photos, made by the good folks at Charm City Cakes. It's an astoundingly accurate rendering of an iPhone save one thing our own Dave Caolo spotted: four bars on AT&T? Wishful thinking, although in the context of a wedding cake, maybe it's a good signal. This is neither the first nor the last cake done as Apple gear, although it is certainly one of the best. But Charm City does nothing halfway, which you know if you've ever seen the show 'Ace of Cakes' on Food Network.
Congratulations to Jerry and his wife!

This cake looks amazing! The detail is fantastic. With that said, unless these two meet atApple I think it's sad that this is their wedding cake.
Did Apple sponsor this wedding? Did they pick up the tab? They
should have.

How is it sad? The wedding is about the bride and groom. Your wedding should be all about celebrating what brought you to this point. What a better way then through common interests. Hell I just went to a wedding where the couple are huge Star Wars fans. They had the traditional wedding and reception except the cake was R2D2. I thought it was cool since it was something about them personally. Who says you need some over the top 5 tier cake? No one remembers the ceremony or what the table decorations were. I bet people who went to this wedding will remember the cake though. :)

My wife made an iPhone cake for my birthday, which I thought was pretty cool, especially considering she's not a pro, just likes to do cakes in what little spare time she has. You can see it here:

Neat! My wife does the same thing (this was an iPod touch cake):

I'm rather upset, I sent the pretty-close-to-perfect pictures of the iPhone cake my girlfriend made for me last year to you guys and you didn't show it!

That's not really something to get upset about, since we get dozens of tips a day. Not all of them make it to the site, sorry. Got a link?

It may have to do with who made the cake. Duff from Ace of Cakes makes some awesome cakes.

How does one decide where to slice first?
Having the Cuba and Texas icons as close neighbors has me a little concerned about igniting a diplomatic incident. ;-)

The problem I have with these cakes is that they're too cool to eat.
It'd be like eating The Pantheon or The Thinker.

Brides are the centerpieces of weddings and cakes are the centerpieces of receptions and cake toppers are the centerpieces of cakes - it's like the food chain!
Congrats and best wishes to the happy couple!
