Beta version of Firefox 3.6 for Mac now available
Want to see something scary this Halloween? Like, perhaps, a browser that doesn't coddle you with all that silly stability and reliable performance? Feel like spending a little time on the bleeding edge? You too can taste the future (which, I am told, has a distinctive metallic tang) by downloading the first public beta of Firefox 3.6, now featured over at the Mozilla developer blog. The next release of the open-source browser includes more flexible video options, better Javascript performance, updated font support and single-click appearance customization through the Personas skinning system. You can read more about the 3.6 changes from a web development perspective here.
The Mac version requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher, and you can get it from the beta download page. Happy surfing!

They should really fix the interface to be more OS X'y. Just take a look at the dropdown-lists. They look like they came out of Windows or something.

I'm actually really liking 3.6 right now. Starts up faster and generally seems much more snappy when loading web pages. And as far as add-ons go, Adblock still works and that's the most important thing. It's really the only reason I use Firefox.
Remember 2003, when the only viable Mac browser was an aging IE5? Wow, times have changed. FireFox, Safari, Camino. Opera. Sea Monkey. Sunrise. Chrome. iCab. OmniWeb.
And even more.
More than a half dozen via browsers, using three major rendering agents (webkit, gecko, presto). All of very high quality, each with their own attributes.
Only one major browser isn't on the Mac... because the manufacturer more or less admitted they couldn't keep enough traction to make it worth their while - Microsoft.
Is this the build that has that weird tilt-sensitivity thing? Because if it is, I would love to try it out.

It NEVER remembers the sign in info on pages I have accounts. I have the "remember..." box checked under Pref>security too. I've tried it unchecked too. Extremely frustrating and renders it useless to me. I'll sign into all my pages, close FF and then reopen it. I have to sign in all over again and not onlt that, it doesn't remember anything I've input.
IMO, browsers (all of them) have taken a step backwards since a year or two ago. Safari, since Snow Leopard, at least for me, has a page load probelm where I frequently have to click "reload". So much so that I've given up on it. I've tried ALL the tricks too. Camino is still very good but, not perfect., I use Camino and Google Chrome 99% of the time with Chrome being default.
I find it shameful that Safari and FF are in the state they are in. Hey, I understand some may have no problem. That's cool. I hear that but, I have 4 Macs in my house and same thing for all of them.
Maybe I expect too much. ;-(
Internet Explorer, while still far behind, is probably the exception to your theory.
IE8 was a great step forward. But I will agree about the rest of them.
FF - Bloated and adding useless features (Awesomebar anyone?)
Safari 4 - Cluttered UI with useless features (3d Accelerated Topsites?)
Chrome - Chrome 4 quickly looses the performance crown
Opera - Not terrible sure about this one
Check your preferences. If you have 'never remember history' under privacy, it won't remember your log in info. Set it to 'use custom settings for history' and it should remember your login information.

http://www.manu-j.com/blog/chrome-vs-firefox-vs-safari-vs-webkit/382/
Both these browsers is 2 times better than Firefox on Sunspider scores. Also in V8 benchmark, Chrome is 10 times better than Firefox, Safari is 6.7 times better than Firefox and Chrome is 1.5 times better than Safari.
I agree, but FF blows Chrome and Safari out of the water when doing anything in Flash. I love chrome, I love safari but I still have to use FF for some flash apps.
