DIY DSLR iPhone

Check out the tutorial for instructions on how to create your own, as well as side-by-side comparisons of a standard iPhone's pictures compared to the hacked-up iPhone shots.
If you're not a tinkerer at heart, you'll probably wonder why he bothered to produce an item as large as a standard DSLR but took worse photos. However, if you were one of those kids who quickly took apart your new toys just to see how they worked, this may be a little experiment you could appreciate.

This still isn't a DSLR, as it doesn't have single-lens reflex mechanics built in.... Using an SLR lens doesn't make the camera SLR.
That said - while this is Interesting, I'll give you that, I just don't see the point.

For a second I thought I understood the point of this article, but then a fly landed on my shoulder, and I quickly became distracted. Perhaps some one can explain?

TUAW finally jumps the shark in my mind, with perhaps the most ridiculous re-quoting of a stupid hack I've read in recent memories.
Absolutely pointless exercise in geekdom.

This hack is for amateurs.
I'll be suitably impressed when someone duct tapes the Apple iphone onto this sucker.....

really?
Looks like someone needs to find better use of their time. If you want to take professional photos you don't use an iPhone. That's embarrassing

Maybe the guy/gal has too much money and too much time but also an inquisitive mind.
