Apple provides a Holiday Sampler for free

Hard to believe anyone who does the Christmas thing would be lacking in basic music like Silent Night or We Wish You a Merry Christmas, but do you have Sarah McLachlan or Weezer singing your carols? Now's your chance to pick up those classics for the low, low price of nothing on the iTunes store now. Here's the link to the iTunes store and here's a nifty web-based page to peep the list. Go, download, drink some eggnog, warm your toes by the fire and try to have a happy holiday!

Update: yeah, US-only, it seems. Update 2: commenter below says UK also! The rest of you get a virtual lump of coal.

Interestingly, I now receive an error that said this sampler is NOT AVAILABLE in the U.S.

Can anyone get this to work on an Apple TV? I clicked on the LP icon in the album view, and it gives me the starting screen, but when I choose "Play Sampler", I just get the normal Apple TV song view, no animations like on my Mac.

I got it over here in France, but I do have a US iTunes account.
The free stuff through facebook doesn't work, however.

Or you can just make a US iTunes account, lots of guides on how to do it if you google. It wont be any good for actual purchases but for downloading free stuff, it works a treat

Excellent free holiday collection. Not much with the "LP" thing but hey, the whole deal is free, can't beat it!

Just change the country at the bottom of iTMS and I guess it should work. I dowloaded all 20 songs plus the LP in South America yesterday.

Really great mix. All of the artists treat the songs well and do them justice. For those who seek something OTHER than Bing Crosby and the Motown Xmas tunes of yore... and yes, it plays well on the TV.

When I play an iTunes LP on my Apple TV, should I get the whole fancy full screen thing like on my Mac, or does it just play the songs in the usual way?

Wow. Because I'm Canadian I'm not allowed to have *free* songs? WTF is up with that?

I am an American living overseas (mid-east) and my US account allows me to download it, no issues.
