Video: another Apple tablet fantasy

French site Nowhereelse.fr has published some very cool video of what appears to be a multitouch tablet device. The user is browsing through an electronic version of an Ikea catalog. The device itself is very slim and seems to incorporate a multitude of Apple technologies: cover flow, shake to shuffle, Pure Coolness.

Is this the Apple Tablet? Probably not. It's just a beautiful mockup that should give Apple some concern if their tablet isn't as cool as the device shown in the video.

Check out the vid and let us know what you think of the device's authenticity in the comments.

I think it's real. There's a second video I have at http://appleislate.com where you can see the home button on one of the edges. I also explain on the site why this video very well might be real. Apple and IKEA have an iphone app similar...but not as advanced as this for the iphone. check it out...

I just wanted to point out that the crunchpad or joo joo looked terribly unresponsive. He had to touch everything 2 times to get it to do something, then it too forever to load.
Now about this pad in the video, don't you think that it's possible for an itablet specific app to be that responsive, lets say an ikea app? It looks exactly like apple's style and they're making it widescreen.
I think it could be legit.

Anyone notice the Newton in the upper right-hand corner? And what was that Newton for school called? It's right next to the other Newton.

It's fake: Look at the light cast on the hand holding the tablet--it never changes despite the colour/brightness of the image on the screen directly below.

When my toddler uses my iPhone (in Airplane mode of course) he has trouble with the touchscreen. The way he grips the phone, his thumb sometimes curls around to the front and makes contact with the touchscreen. This contact with the screen will prevent additional touch input, for example: his other hand that is trying to press something in an application. Basically it seems the first point of contact negates the other. In this video it looks like the user is holding the "tablet" in that same way - where the hand holding it is touching the screen. You would think it would have similar behavior to the iPhone - hence my vote is it's a fake.

So you don scratch the surface so often, a book is much better. If this video that Im posting would be an Apple product I´d be buying no matter what.

Sooo, fake. I'm tired of seeing all of these designs that look exactly like just a huge iPhone. Reminds me of the fake iPhone designs that were floating around which were basically just iPods with keypads attached to them.

Apple always place their Close (X) buttons on the top left of their popup windows, not right.
