Psystar's new business: selling T-shirts
Dear Psystar: just give it up already. After updating their website this weekend announcing that they are voluntarily suspending the sale of their Rebel EFI software, Psystar has decided to take another business route – selling T-shirts.
Yes, for the bargain price of only $14.99 you can get your very own "I sued Psystar... and all I got was a lousy injunction" T-shirt. Oh yeah, you can also donate money to them in $20, $50, or $100 increments – you know, just because they deserve it and you have nothing better to do with your hard-earned cash.
Want a T-shirt? Considering Psystar has to cease business by year's end, you better get behind the other two guys in line who are waiting to snap these gems up.

Look it's like this. Microsoft decided that in order to make a crap load of money they will focus on software and sell it to all of the computer MFG they can and every single system makes them some cash.
Apple decided lets make some great computers, but in order to have great computers we need amazing os behind it. not to say Windows is not good just saying apple decided to build a system that they can fully support hardware and software alike and there for took a risk but it's paying off.
Call HP tell them windows is acting funny , keep saying what every they say to try is not working, they will at some point transfer you to microsoft. With apple the same support agent can help you with hardware and software.
if this was the other way around Microsoft was locked down to microsoft hardware they would be pissed too. Apple has the right to protect what they create and own. Don't get pissy becuase your too cheap to own more then an iPod nano.
two quick side notes - one if your on TUAW and talk crap about apple or apple products change your name before coming back cuz damn these fanboys are crazy !!!! two - my macbook pro does not have a twisted plastic case like your HP that creeks every time you type BITCH ! Thats how we fanboys roll !!!
i'm going to go buy a shirt and send it to steve job, he might use it on his next keynote lol
@Ryan
No offense but your argument is ridiculous. I agree that Macs might appear to be very expensive, when you are comparing a MacBook Pro with a cheap HP or Dell. But as its been written a thousand times online spec for spec the Mac is cheaper, and thats not including the software like iLife installed not to mention Mac OS X which is the heart of this argument. I mean why bother if you don't want Apple's OS. When are you people going to realize its not about market share. MS has done that and it appears to me that Apple is not interested in that. As far as "mindshare" goes it seems to me every time I'm in an airport or a coffee shop I see more and more Macs. Apparently some is buying these computers.
@Ryan. the negative attitude is because Psystar are thieving douchebags. They had no legal right to make clones and did it anyway. Then when they got called on it, they tried their legal games and lost but continued to play their lame 'we have a right' games. And added to it by stealing from the very community that might have supported them (what you thought they created Rebel EFI from scratch).
Whether you like it or not, Apple has legal rights and Psystar stepped all over them. Apple stood up for themselves but because they are a billion dollar company and Psystar is two guys in their basement, some folks treat Apple like demons and these two like heroes. And now they are heroes that are going to likely file bankruptcy and renig on all the fines and fees they owe, including to their lawyers who were stupid enough to work on contingency (so I guess they are getting what's coming to them)
as for your other thoughts, I have to ditto Lancelot. Just because you don't like the price, the specs etc doesn't give you a right to demand that Apple change to suit your desires.
I come to an *unofficial* Apple blog, hopefully they discuss the
products Apple makes rather than attacking other companies along with
Apple when it has no effect on Apple products reaching the consumer.
@ lancelott, meant to reply to the previous post.

December 28 2009 at 3:00 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThe idea that Apple "has to open their software" is not only delusional but also stupid. That's almost like saying Sony has to open up the PS3 software so it can play on XBOX 360 consoles... Why is it that for some folks it seems impossible to grasp the idea that a company can OWN the rights to Software and to Hardware and decide (without creating an unfair competitive advantage... after all there are A LOT of computers out there and few are Macs) to put them together and sell them as a unit? That is what every gaming console does as well as several other hundreds of products.
Also, a lot of the core technologies in OS X, sponsored by Apple and otherwise are open source- even the new GCD (Grand Central Dispatch- sponsored by Apple) and the gecko engine that powers Safari.
$500 Tshirt with a free Psystar Open PC preloaded with snow leopard?

December 28 2009 at 10:49 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI'm going to buy one for sure. Even if psystar overcharges for their products a favorable ruling in court will set the course for apple to open up its products
Ex. OS X officially on any x86 system and an open app store.
I was at least expecting iSued Psystar.
