Found Footage: Spinning Wheel of Death painting

My Painting Has Crashed from James Théophane Jnr on Vimeo.

James Théopane was asked to create a piece of artwork for his employer. He fused an old painting, a motor built from a kit, and new art done on canvas to create a fantastic interactive piece that pays tribute to the spinning pizza of death / rainbow pinwheel cursor / Marble of Doom. Read about how Theopane developed this work on his Posterous site.

Is it just me, or is this Jordan-character constantly whining and moaning about everything? Every time I check the comments, I seem him moaning about something.

Hey TUAW, it's always been called the Beachball. And it's often used as a verb, e.g., "...and then Photoshop started Beachballing on me".

I can't believe you guys don't know this already.

Spinning Wheel of Death doesn't even make any sense. The Spinning Wheel of Wait a Little Bit, maybe...

What don't you get? Apple computers have a Spinning wheel of death, the equivalent to Microsoft's Blue Screen of Death.

Yah... a cellophane layer with highlighted sections would look more accurate.

It looks kind of weird this way... But kudos to the guy for making something unique and eye-catching!
