Omni Group bringing the Omni apps to the iPad

Famed OmniFocus developer The Omni Group has given a brief peak at their development roadmap. The Mac Observer reports that Omni will release OmniFocus, OmniPlan, OmniGraffle, OmniOutliner and OmniGraphSketcher for the iPad.
The Omni Group is pretty excited about what all the iPad has to offer saying they feel that, like the original Macintosh, the iPad will be the computer for the rest of us. Omni has already begun porting OmniFocus and OmniGraffle for the iPad and will start working to bring their other products to iPad beginning in the next few months.
Omni is being very candid about their plans for the future of their products and it is refreshing to see a well-known software company keep their users informed. Omni admits that the iPad work will delay future release cycles for the Mac versions of their software but is confident that this is the right decision.

It will be interesting to see how well omnigraffle looks on the iPad. Personally, I am really excited to see this piece of software move to the iPad.

Omni Focus? Already there
Omni Outliner and Omni Plan? Maybe, although they would be pretty crippled.
Omni Graffle and OmniGraphSketcher? Probably not; you need more screen real estate than 3.5 inches.
If they had a rough vector sketching App, something like CAD Touch R2, but with more Multi-Touch, that would fill the need for when you have to draw a quick sketch.
Wow. I've been wanting them to come out with a version of Omnioutliner for the iPod for a while. I look forward to seeing how this works out.

This is very good news. I hope other developers will take heed and look at the iPad as a fully functional computing device... and not as an untoward or maligned iPod Touch.

This company is painfully slow with it's Mac software as is - and their upgrade prices are scary. Still, they did a good job with the iPhone version of OmniFocus. If you are excited about these iPad apps, learn to meditate - cos your going to need the patience of Buddha himself.
