1Password on your iPad
1Password, the oft-mentioned password manager and form filler, has just posted mockups of their in-the-works iPad version. Previously available on the desktop and for the iPhone, 1Password has undergone some visual overhauls already. The iPad version appears to take the current interface a little further with a few nice visual tweaks, and take full advantage of the large touch area of the iPad.
The design looks great to me, and I especially like the main toolbar with its recessed icons. The developers (and their graphic designer) appear to be taking the new form factor into consideration and generating a very usable interface. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on the iPad version, pending the purchase of an iPad, of course. Check out the post at the developer's blog for a better look!

It would be great if Apple allowed plugins for iPad's Safari. I love 1Password. It's easier to input username/passwords and my passwords are more secure.
It would be nicer than having to copy/paste them from the 1Password app.
The mockup above is a good start, but I'd love for them to experiment a little more with the design before porting the existing application. What opportunities does the touch interface open up? Should the toolbar be on the right, since most of us are right handed? Maybe text should accompany the icons, since there are no tooltips without a mouse. I think I'd prefer it that the list be down at the bottom, closer to my hands and have the details shown up top, rather than the current reverse of that (sorry... I'm an Art Director).
Thanks for your feedback ramkanda! I haven't worked very closely with our designer, but I think the current concept of the navigation/icon toolbar on the left is that since most people are right-handed, they'll be holding the device with their left, so their left thumb will have quick access to hit some of these icons. I could be wrong though, so don't quote me!
We're definitely listening to feedback on this, though, so keep it coming!
Also, re: copying and pasting into Mobile Safari on iPhone/iPad. 1Password touch on iPhone features a built-in browser based on the same WebKit engine that Mobile Safari uses. Tapping the link in any of your Logins will take you straight to that page and your Login will be auto-filled (admittedly, we have some work to do with filling compatibility on a few sites. But in general, 1Password touch fills forms pretty well). Basically, 1Password touch can act sort of like a bookmark manager and alternative to Mobile Safari. Many of your bookmarks are already in 1Password touch, so you can just browse them and auto-fill them right there!
I hope this helps.

TUAQ should have a design competition then we can see lots of dev's showing their great ideas!
