Gameloft says they've got iPhone locked down

To a certain extent, yes, the App Store creates a level playing field for game developers, and allows companies even smaller than Gameloft to get their games out to a mass audience and gain a following based simply on gameplay, not necessarily marketing or other factors. But despite Gameloft's bragging, some of the most popular titles on the App Store, from Rock Band to Call of Duty: World at War Zombies, are able to tie a successful brand into an app that features solid gameplay. Yes, Gameloft has been able to shine on the App Store. But I wouldn't count big developers out yet -- they're still learning how to use the iPhone's marketplace, and I think we'll continue to see big successes from bigger developer in the future.

Gameloft is one of the bigger iPhone-specific (or at least mobile-specific) game developers out there, and in fact they're so big, they...

I'm still waiting for that promised multi-player update to NFL 2010.

They may have separate accounting now but come from the same clan, and share many licenses. Gameloft, however, found its niche in stealing other people's ideas, and changing them just enough to get away with it. I'll buy no more of their games, thank you.

One of the best traits of the app store & iPhone in general is the purchase & update process. Unline console games - When a dev releases an app / game, and bugs are discovered, we all get to enjoy the luxury of an update (free at that!) to fix a problem, or to add new content. Gameloft has ignored the obvious problems with NOVA. They choose to release & move on because they already got our money. I'm not buying anything from Gameloft ever again. I hope I can convince other to do the same so maybe Gameloft will start to change their ways.

Even though I own several Gameloft titles, I don't see how this post is relevant to anyone?
Ubisoft didn't develop the most recent Assassin's Creed game for the iPhone, Griptonite Games did.

Gameloft knows the technology, but by and large their actual IP is just an inferior clone of someone else's with the serial numbers filed off. People should hire them to make iPhone clones of the real IP "God of War" instead of "Hero of Sparta" or "Halo" instead of NOVA. The clones do their reputation no favours, and just makes the iPhone game market look like the cheap cartoons you get with the same names as Disney movies, but none of the charm.
Your right almost everygame they make is a cheap ripoff of a well known/loved title.
Gangstar - GTA
NOVA - Halo
Dungeon Hunter - Diablo (i must admit this was really good)
Blades of Fury - Soul Calibur
