Found Footage: Grandma gets an iPad

After spending years trying, failing and trying again to teach a number of mature Apple users how to use various Apple products, I got a kick out of this video. It's funny because it's true, and it also shows that there are some less than optimum uses for an iPad. This iPad parody was made as a school project for a Comm 340 class. I think you'll get a chuckle out of it on this late Friday afternoon.

I thought parody was about making fun of what is essentially true.

For example the iPad on the arm of the jogger. I believe that is what it would look like, and that was funny.

They didn't do their research, you can send to printers on the iPad.

Sadly, I can see an accessory that allows you to strap the iPad to your leg to fix it in place while sitting down.

Hello friendly staff at TUAW, would it be possible to include not only the embedded YouTube video, but a link to the YouTube page also? I pretty much always read TUAW on my iPhone, and if I ever want to share the videos you post with others, I have to navigate to YouTube and search for it. Not always knowing what to search for, it can be a hit or miss affair. I figure that popping in a link, much like you do an iTunes Store link for apps, would be fairly painless for you guys, and very convenient for us readers.

funny as hell! after I saw the guy running with one - that was it for me! laughing thru-out the rest of it!

besides being a parody, they do bring up valid shortcomings too.

I'll probably end up getting one after it has all the stuff that's missing.

I also like the over-the-top impression he does of Apple's Jony Ive's over-the-top delivery which always annoys me anyways.

what were these other folks expecting when the title is "funny video."? I think a good laugh is well deserved of two minutes.

It was funny. Loved the " if you laptop is too powerful (MBP) and you iPod (4GB mini) needs a kick". And grandma putting it up to her ear is a hoot.
That said, I can't wait to pickup my pre oreder iPad on 4/3!!!
