Apple posts iPad guided tour videos

Apple has posted new "guided tour" iPad videos meant to give details of the device's features. Unlike the original promo video which was a broad overview, the guided tours get into the specifics.

There are 11 videos in total, each explaining and demonstrating key iPad features, including Mail, Safari, Photos, Video, YouTube, iPod, iTunes, iBooks, Keynote, Pages and Numbers. There's also an option to watch all of the videos, one after the other. As you'd expect, they're very well done and feature best-case-scenarios; the connections are all fast, the photos are gorgeous, etc. The snapshots of my kids never look that good!

Enjoy the demos for now and bide your time until this weekend. We're almost there.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

iWork makes the iPad, the innovations in graphical interface they've come up with are amazing.

I keep waiting for a video showing someone clicking the plus button in the bottom left corner of the iPod app. I assume it lets you create a playlist, and if so, that's a major step up from the iPhone/iPod Touch, which doesn't allow playlist creation (besides a single On-The-Go playlist.) Anyone know if that's indeed what it does?

Clearly, the most important iPad accessory is going to be a pair o’ legs.

People need to stop pretending it's impossible to print from the iPad. You can print from the iPhone, so you'll be able to print from the iPad. They're called third party apps.

How come there is no annotation available on the iBooks? That's lame because other eReaders allow you to annotated....

The "Photos" video says that if you are syncing to iPhoto, you can use the "Faces" and "Places" feature in the iPad.

Now that I just recently upgraded to Aperture (from iPhoto), I wonder if I'll lose out on this capability.

I've never sync'd photos with my iPhone (even when I used iPhoto) - does anyone know if the iTunes app will let a device (iPhone/iPad/whatever) sync photos to Aperture as well as iPhoto, or is it iTunes photo syncing limited to iPhoto?

(I'm using a Mac/Snow Leopard, if it makes a difference)

Yes it will work with aperture assuming it's like apple tv, iPhone, iPod..which it definitely will be.

You should be able to easily sync pictures between iPhoto and Aperture as they are both apps developed by Apple, and I think that they try to keep connectivity between all of their apps. Hope this helps!

The iPad will eliminate the need for paper and printing. The PC failed to do that.

Why is the time 9:41 am on all the iPad screens?

It's Steve Jobs' Time Distortion Field, very similar to the more well known Reality Distortion Field.
