iTunes updates to 9.1, adds syncing for iPad

When our mailbox explodes, you know an Apple release has come out -- and today has proven no different as iTunes updates to version 9.1, introducing many features that are compatible with the iPad including:
  • iPad syncing
  • Organizing and syncing books downloaded from iBooks
  • Rename, rearrange or remove Genius Mixes
All of those features were predicted yesterday, but it's nice to see them up and running in the application officially. iTunes 9.1 is available now via Software Update. We're ready for the iPad -- bring it on!

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!

Now that I downloaded 9.1, I can no longer print playlists! How do I fix this?

Just erased my iPod and will not let me burn discs. Really? This isn't looked into before release?

Two versions of iTunes 9.1!

I haven't "updated" to the last version.

Is anyone else experiencing frequent iTunes crashes after 9.1 upgrade? It seems to happen when I'm trying to browse my full library (doesn't happen within playlists).

I was able to sync fine before this update and now it get's to the very end of the backup and tells me that MobileSync encountered an error and had to close. It does this every time whether I reboot or not. Contacts, bookmarks, apps, etc. all still sync but I can no longer backup.

I'm running Vista with a jailbroken (not unlocked) iPhone 3GS with OS 3.1.2.

If anybody finds a fix please post, thanks!

First off, unjailbreak the phone. This is the problem. Jailbreak modifies the OS, so it can cause something to happen.

To unjailbreak, sadly, is to fully restore the phone, (aka, ERASE EVERYTHING)

Then, try syncing again, then jailbreak again. (although I recommend you keep it unjailbroken if you live in the US, since jailbreaks bypasses iPhone OS encryption, and bypassing encryption in software or digital device is against DMCA, and subject to prosecution)

Looks like no book reading in iTunes. It will not even launch another reader like Adobe Digital Editions.

I think this is a big mistake on apple's part. If they want their bookstore to be a success they're going to need the books to be widely available, otherwise people are just going to install the kindle app so they can buy books that can be read on their computers, ipod and ipad.

hopefully apple will fix that soon.

It also seems that now when you have tunes play with the "Repeat One" option enabled and you hit the left or right arrow keys to normally replay the song, it'll go to the previous or next song, respectively. Not sure if I like that.

Seems to like epub books from both Google Books and Adobe Digital Editions.
