Woz to buy two iPads
Newsweek chatted with one Steve Wozniak the week before the iPad launch, and unsurprisingly, he's going all-in on the new device, and planning on picking up (at least) two, one WiFi and one 3G. He's ordered them up online already, but he says he'll still be stopping by an Apple Store on Friday evening, to "wait in line, just for fun." What a guy.He actually says he didn't think the iPad was for him, since he already had an iPhone, but he says that after thinking about it, he really is excited about the bigger screen and browsing. He also is sure that it will be popular with students and even people who aren't necessarily computer literate. "The iPad simplifies things," he says wisely. "It's like a restart. We all say we want things to be simpler. All of a sudden we have this simple thing."
Sounds good. When the iPhone launched, Woz was at the San Jose Apple Store, we believe, so if you're planning on camping out in line there this weekend, keep your eyes open for a jolly computer designer carrying more gadgets than you can count.

March 31 2010 at 1:34 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWell if The Woz Man is getting an IPad then so am I. I think it's going to be a great product. Students are going to love this thing. And I plan on using it for work. I can give presentations on it. And send instant emails and photos. And I will also get a wow factor from using it.
March 31 2010 at 1:03 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIs to "wait in line, just for fun" mean like cutting to the front of the line like he did for the iPhone?

March 30 2010 at 5:06 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyOne for Woz, and one for his dancing partner???
March 30 2010 at 4:33 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhy would Woz buy TWO iPads when the 3G model is also Wi-Fi? He only needs one iPad. All he needs to buy is the 3G/Wi-Fi model and he's set. No point in wasting more money than he needs to.
IMHO, the iPad is worthless until it supports multitasking, Flash, has at least 250Gb storage, USB, a cam, and a more sensible price tag.
