Found footage: the first guy in the iPad line at 5th Avenue Apple Store
It's not surprising at all that someone has already been sitting in front of the iconic 5th Avenue Apple Store in New York City. This video was posted this morning (April 1, 2010) and from the discussion with the person who is sitting there, he was in line yesterday.
He kind of looks lonely, but if past practice is any indicator of the next few days, he'll make a lot of new friends as the line begins to grow in the hours leading up to 9 AM EDT on Saturday, April 3rd, 2010.

I'm going to be one of those people wandering around on Saturday looking for a spare iPad.
Does seeing this guy sitting in a chair in front of the store TWO DAYS before it opens make anyone else in my same iPad-less boat uneasy? Like you need to go look for a lawn chair in the garage?
I don't get why one would wait this long if there was an option for pre-ordering or reservation.

this guy is a celebrity. He is on every line of Apple products.

Muppet fails to order online in effort to prove his own stupidity.

This guy should write press releases or replace Jobs on stage at the keynotes:
"You know, you just click it on. You don't have to open it up and you know, go through, you know, go through everything."
Clearly a former marketing exec. right there. Actually, I thank him for reminding me why I don't need to run out and buy one - it doesn't actually do anything new. Just does somethings differently. I was starting to feel that familiar, irrational Apple-induced impulse to buy now, ask questions later...

So you have to wait a little bit.. who cares? I feel bad for whoever has to stand next to him after 3 days of not showering.
April 01 2010 at 12:44 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIs he planning on getting food and water delivered to him? Dying in line for the iPad is not the best publicity stunt.
