3,266 iPad apps and counting
AppShopper is listing 3,266 iPad apps available at the time of this writing. That's slightly more than 100 apps added since this morning. As of the morning of April 4th there were a total of 3,122 iPad apps available in the App Store according to Mobclix, a mobile ad exchange. At launch yesterday, the Wall Street Journal reported 2300 iPad apps available in the App Store.Of the 3,100+ apps Mobclix counted, 2,523 -- or roughly 80% of them -- were paid apps with the average price being $4.99. 942 of the iPad apps are games (804 paid, 138 free) and of the 154 book apps virtually all of them are paid. To put all the apps on your iPad would cost you a whopping $12,572.78.
TechCrunch contrasts the iPad app numbers with the iPhone apps. Of the 180,000 iPhone apps, 75% are paid. TechCrunch also theorizes that the prices of most iPad apps should go down as developers seek a median level where they can achieve the highest profit possible. After all, selling a hundred thousand copies of your app for $1.99 is much better than selling five copies for $49.99.

Even if those users are costing you more than two bucks to support? This really depends entirely on the app. When you factor in things like push notifications, syncing services, customer service, updates, etc... There's a point where lowering the price can be a bad idea, even if it means more buyers.
The iPad has been amazing my first 1/2 day (got it at 12:30, and it is now 12:30am). The battery life is amazing, I have used it to read a bunch of magazines for 3 hours and its at 86%.
However, I wish there were more app developers who would provide an upgrade path for a HD (or +) version of Apps they already own. I don't think we should have to pay full price. Like when Tweetie HD comes out, do I have to pay the full price, or can I get it for an upgrade price?
And when is Stanza coming for iPad????????????
We've upgraded Tango Remote to be a universal app so you can upgrade at no cost if you already own for iPhone. Here is link...

I'm having constant sync issues and backup issues. On my second restore and have been waiting now for the backup to go through...it's been an hour and is about 1/2 done. I have the 16gb.

The user can literally blow out candles on a virtual birthday cake. Works really well on the iPhone too. The app is called Birthday A La Carte. 1200 hits today thanks to the iPad launch. If 1200 people forward it to their peeps I might even find a job this year.
Hey man! Video is great! Only one problem! Its made out of flash... and we know what Steven Jobs says about flash. Just like what Robert "The Waterboy" Boucher's mom says about flash ITS THE DEVIL!
