iPhone 4.0 event coming April 8

Hey kids, remember the iPhone? Emerging from the shadows of the iPad release is a press invitation from Apple to participate in an iPhone 4.0 event on April 8 -- three days away. Other than the collective Internet gasp of shock, there's little known about what the event will bring other than the preview of a new OS. Will it live up to the rumors? It might be worth checking back over our iPhone 4.0 wishlist series to get a feel for the possibilities this new OS may bring.

We'll see you on the 8th!

Becareful what you ask for!! All that multitasking will suck your battery down faster than a speeding bullet! Everybody I know that has a phone that multitasks keeps it plugged up! And they have to always carry around that spare battery!!!

I'd like to be able to add songs to playlists on the go.

They still haven't put tethering onto the iPhone like they said they'd do in the 3.0 release, maybe 3.2 will have it but I doubt that!

Tethering is available, just not in the US. O2 offers customers in the UK a tethering add-on to their call package. It's down to the provider to make it available, Apple have done their bit.

Oh, they put it in there - it's just that AT&T hasn't activated it yet. Blame the right party for that one.

Oops, sorry about that, stupid 1Password glitch.

Unified mailbox is a certain, anything else is a guess. I think some sort of limited multitasking will be implemented though.
