iPhone OS 4.0: Apple announces Game Center, a social gaming network for the iPhone

Jobs said on stage in Cupertino that they will combine GameCenter with the App Store's over 50,000 games and entertainment titles. It'll be extremely interesting to see how Apple's network interacts with App Store titles, and it looks like OpenFeint and the like have some serious first-party competition.

Much like with the Wii, I see this as a failing of the developer community more than a failing of the device itself. Some developers have shown how you can make fun games that don't need buttons but others seem to be stuck using the same old paradigms. I really am not a fan of those games that try to simulate the games on other platforms using pseudo-gamepad controls on-screen. Frankly, this shows a lack of imagination and that really sucks for an industry who is supposed to be exactly that.
I live in hopes that things will perk up as time goes on. I really have no interest in playing the same games that I've been playing for the past 25-years.
can you please send me a download link with email? dennis.zagorski@me.com
for the 3G
In other news, Apple has de-listed all game Apps that use Open Feint or Plus+, stating that they are duplicating a service that Apple already provides.
