Apple hiring camera expert for iPad, may include USB Audio support with connection kit

And in other iPad news, there are also rumors going around that the iPad's camera connection kit might support USB Audio as well. That's a bit of a surprise -- you wouldn't expect a kit for connecting a camera to also have USB Audio drivers included, but it is basically just a USB connector for the iPad's docking port, so maybe some crafty engineer at Apple has included support for another standard just for the heck of it. I'm sure plenty of audio pros will be grateful if it's true.

I still haven't picked up an iPad yet, though I'm pretty convinced I will soon -- even if I don't need one myself, there's obviously a lot...

I want the iPad and the iPhone to easily become image screens for the instant output of HD camcorders and HDSLRs. A killer app.

no doubt the jailbreak community will do it sometime soon.
I guess legit users wont see it but damn it would be a great way to add cheap storage... and maybe there's the rub. :(
I hope this is true - would love to hook up a MicPort Pro on my iPad! (crosses fingers)
Then I'd just need a waveform editor...
If you have an Iphone you can use the Iphone to turn the Ipad into a camera. Download the camera A app on the Ipad and the camera B app on the iphone. Sync the two and you have a camera on your Ipad.

I wouldn't rule out there being a camera, though. I would just expect it to be in the form of a dock connector rather than built-in. That should make early adopters happy as well as those who were holding out for video conferencing capabilities.
This is different, this is an accessory that is a dock connector to USB port, so that you can copy pictures from a digital camera to and iPad.
