Wow -- are you delusional? Watched any TV in the last 10 years? You almost never see minorities playing muggers, rapists or generic "thugs" any more -- that would only get the stations a ton of letters from angry minorities and risk getting Al Sharpton and Jessee Jackson pissed at them. And yes, I'm old enough to remember when ALL bad people on TV were minorities and that wasn't right either. But at least it was more statistically realistic than it is today.

You, sir, are an unrealistic, uninformed, finger-pointing moron who thinks hiding or ignoring facts will make them go away.

How about you do a little research and check the facts as Lance pointed out. Did you know, for example, that 66% or more of our prisons are filled with minorities?

Or that about 12.4% of the entire African-American male population in the United States aged 21 to 29 is IN PRISON? By far the largest racial or ethnic group. And by comparison, 2.4% of Hispanic men and 1.2% of white men in that same age group are incarcerated. (found this on the Web with very little effort.)

One more time for the reality-impaired, Raul, ONE OUT OF EVERY 9 BLACK MEN ARE IN PRISON -- and you're upset that tuaw posted a picture of a black suspect? WTF is wrong with you? You want to change (or ignore) the facts so we don't risk making a particular race "look bad"? Would you have complained if the "suspect" were white? I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess you wouldn't.

So, back to the point, Raul, could you please take a minute and explain how the media caused this awful state of affairs for blacks? Or is it, as some have intimated (sarcastically), that it's because blacks are being unjustly charged, convicted and imprisoned? It couldn't possibly be because more blacks and other minorities commit more crimes. No way! it MUST be someone else's fault, right? Damn that media!

I know there are issues of income, environment, etc. that may be the root cause in some or many of these cases but trying to get people to hide or ignore the facts, is just head-in-the-sand PC bullshit and it will be the ruination of our country. If people can't deal with facts openly and if we have to avoid even mentioning statistically where there are problems to be addressed, there will never be anything done to rectify the problems.

So here's my recommendation for fairness in media: TV shows and movies must show "bad people" (thieves, muggers, rapists, murders) in exact proportion to the actual percentages in the USA. Would that be fair to you, Raul? 44% of the "bad guys" between 21-29 have to be played by black actors? I'd love to know what you think about that. And BTW, what's your opinion of showing mafioso portrayed as Italian? That must really upset you. Sent any angry letters about that have ya? Again, going to guess no on that one.

I never realized until just now that this happened in Denver. I grew up in Fort Collins, about an hour north of there, and would have to make special trips in high school to go up to the Apple Store there in Cherry Creek because there wasn't any other Apple Store in the state, to my knowledge. That's a nice area, or it was nine years ago, anyway.

When I was six, my parents moved us out of Southern California (which I loved) to Colorado (which I hated), telling me it was too dangerous in California but very safe in Colorado. Twenty years later, does this happen in Phoenix, where I now live, or California? Nope, it happens in Colorado - the "safe" place.

It just goes to show... Either you're not safe anywhere and you may as well live where you want, or Coloradoan's are frigging insane. (That kid in the weather balloon? His family lived next door to one of my best friends in high school. I'm so glad I moved out of that state.)
