Rumor: Apple's iTravel being previewed in other markets

[Mmm, egg. Our Canadian cousins have written in to point out that the app featured in the newspaper ad is not a secret Apple travel app, but is in fact the real world, maple-syrup-and-curling enabled Air Canada app. Demerits to PA and 9to5 for misreading and to us for falling for the mixup. –Ed.]
PA suggests this is all being done in time for something called the Travel Distribution Summit on June 17, but I can think of another conference in June that might have Apple showing off new official applications. It's not 100% clear that the app in the ad is a brand new app by Apple, but in addition to the Concert Ticket+ patent that appeared a while back, it's a safe guess that Apple is cooking up some new utility software. We'll have to keep eyes out during WWDC and see what we can find.

Ah yes looks like someone is traveling to YYZ.
BAH DA BAH BAH BAH BADDA BAH DA BAH BAH BAH.
Okay, so first, you publish an entire article without fact checking to see whether or not your "hot Apple rumour" is even close to being true. Then, in your correction (I love how you did not correct or update the article title, by the way), you take a not-so-subtle jab at your friendly neighbors to the North. Way to keep it classy, Schramm.

Knowing what's happening in countries other than your own.
Apparently, there isn't an app for that.
You really think Apple would show an unreleased, official app in a print ad rather than an app made by an airline operating in the country where the ad was placed?
C'mon guys its the AIR CANADA app!! Don't write a full article before checking please!

There's an iPhone commercial in Canada featuring that app.
If Apple is about to unleash a set of services and apps on us for travel, I'd say the info will come during a software event like WWDC. But if the Concert+ thing happens, it's almost a sure bet that they would launch this during an iPod event given the music focus.
